    Posted: 10/14/2010 at 10:07pm
hello, after a topic about cutting with a blade or scissors, I asked if I should do a video and I've got a PM from corsuse to do it.. BTW, This is the longest cutting I've done, either something was wrong with the blade even though it is new or the sponge is hard to penetrate.. I noticed if I pressed harder I'd damage it so I went gentle doing lots of light cuts.

Good video.
This makes me want to try it for the first time.
That super clean look is n i c e !

I've heard disposable scalpels work very well for this... don't know though.

Good informative video and nice cutting job. I like it very much. Your dedication to attend every details is amazing.

Sallom, I noticed your HH 656 has unusual looking flanks. Did you sand it for a comfrotable grip?

Did you cut the rubber because of my request or you have to do it anyway because the old one was worn out?

How much does your blade cost? I have tried once to cut a rubber with one but it wasn't one of the most expensive and it seemed to damage the edges of the rubber and crumble them :(.

Nice video. Nice job. Nice HH656 blade :).

Here is how my blade looks :P. The forehand rubber (H2 Neo Commercial) is smaller but I bought it second hand.

I had to the feeling that it is the time to change the rubber and it looked wasted so I went for it, but I filmed it, edit, and upload because of your request :p

Not sure, maybe around 160$? I forgot totally..what wasn't the most expensive, the rubber or blade that you were cutting with?

Nice blade, old HH and HH656 looks identical :p

Thanks Wink

I wasn't clear enough. I mean the knife which you used for cutting the rubber. Is it expensive?

I've found drywall type knives work well.  When the blade gets dull you just "snap" off the dull edge and you are left with a good sharp edge.  You can buy them at any Big Box type store.  I think I bought mine at Lowes or HD.

Nope it is not expensive, looks close to the one posted below.

Yea this is what I'm using, it works well and as you stated.. all you need to do is snap the old piece off and use a new part!

I have a similiar one. When I receive my Sriver EL I can try cutting it in the way you showed. I will smoothly and gently cut it and cut several times at the same place as you showed (in case the sponge is hard and tough and not easy to be cut ) :). I may also try wetting the blade (this small knife). If anything goes wrong I will continue cutting with a pair of scissors.
You have a Wang Hao's signature. Wow... :)
This Spinart looks good. Does it produce such spin as a chinese rubber?

Cutting over the same place is not recommended by my coach, he does it two times by MAX, but sometimes I get better cuts and some of my friends asks me to cut lol. Wang Hao, Ma Lin and Chen Weixing's sig, but only Wang Hao's is showing because I went over it again.

Spinart's spin can easily surpass TG3 Neo.. I tried both and I liked Spinart more, but I don't advice you to buy it used. It shows marks since the first day of use, by two months it will be killed.
