whats up with all that portuguese bashing? what exactly is your problem? is that something to do with such a small country can produce more talent in 3 players than ur country can for decades and decades so u feel the need to critize them for just about anything u can? talking trash is easy... and thats really all u can do in this forum

Only reason I brought it up was because of all crap you guys were talkin in that thread about Tiago being the next greatest European tallent, and now he loses to a young nobody. Sooooo you talk sh*t when he does well, you get sh*t back when he doesn't, that's how it works, deal with it.

and why exactly do u feel the need to talk sh*t about tiago uh?? jealousy or u just cant find something nice to talk about an US player? and u talk sh*t about all the other players that lose too? or ur insignifcant mind cant stand a portuguese player doing well and u have to trash him as soon as he loses? all ur posts are all about trashing and critizing something or someone, ur just too little and not worth any of my time... have fun being stupid :)

ps: sorry to the mods about these off topic posts, im done though Embarrassed

Baum was playing pretty flat.  Just watch his opening loops against push.  Going mostly for spin and not power.  Very uncharacteristic if you compare his performances vs. Timo or Schlager.  It almost looked like he was tired or throwing the match.

Thanks for the vids - Dima was particularly aggressive and overpowering vs. Hiromitsu Kasahara, but didn't look that comfortable vs. vladi's control. although there ware some pretty spectacular and creative combinations that dima used against vladi...

Samsonov's simply too smart in his game. Against Ryu he exploited Ryu's wide FH countless times as Ryu was always trying to step around from his BH to use his FH.

Against Dima he actually managed to exploit Dima's wide BH time after time, as Dima likes to use his BH even for balls to the FH.

Ovtcharov played not so smart in my opinion, against Samsonov. Vladi is very good with controlled push return of serve, and I have feeling that Dima always got his heavy sidespin returned back so it works against him, he made many errors trying to attack push. Also, he many times made weak  bh opening loop into Vladi's bh, and Vladi attacked all this with no problems. It was easy job for Samsonov.

It seemed that Dima lost some of the oomph he had in quarters and semis - might have been getting tired. Then again, Vladi surely knows how to take away his (Dima's) advantages and force him to make mistakes.

This year, Vladi played 3 ProTour tourneys, on 3 continents (Marocco Open, Korea Open, Polish Open) and won them all. Man surely knows how to pick his battles at his old age Wink (he is 34)

+1

I think Dima's overuse of his bh hurts him against the best players in the world. He like to step over to his fh side and hit bh shots and it often results in him being out of position for the next shot or two. He commonly ends up hitting what I like to call "T-Rex" fh shots... Weak FH shots with your paddle very close to your body as if your arms are short like a T-Rex! Whenever you get "jammed" while trying to hit a FH. (Not to be confused with keeping your elbow close to your body for control and consistency.)

But who am I to criticize Dima? He's a fantastic player. Just observing the obvious, I guess.
