i just got my C555 today. Tongue

and i'm liking it very much after dressing with rubbers. haven tried it at the table tho.
but i already know it's going to be good from my EJ experience.

also i did a post in my TT Blog thread in a singapore tt forum. ( sgpingpong.com )
below is my original post extracted :

---------------------------------------------------------------------

nobody would have guessed it. i even surprise myself to actually commit to get it.  hahaha
its a AVX Ma Wenge Carbon! aka AVX C555.

me suspecting it is a good blade was correct. (lucky!) tho the top ply Limba is thin, the carbon right below
is not as hard as Butterfly's Tamca 5000 carbon. there is a little ping bouncing ball on it but once with rubbers
on, for some strange reason it actually feels more like a medium- feeling fast wood blade.
i am so delightfully surprise !!

the blade box sucks la but the blade quality is really good! smooth finishing throughout, nothing like stiga's
rough handles & (sometimes) splintering blade face.

weight is sweet too! a good 86g before touching up. i haven even tried it at the table & i'm liking the feel
with rubbers on already! . the thin carbon will flex more & more as u hit harder,
giving the power that u crave for. and pinging is very faint. pretty unusual for a carbon blade.

its no wonder some of the the top chinese players used to try the earlier model (Stiga V1) before. i know Ma Lin tried
when he was very young. so did WLQ (not too sure but i think he tried after glue ban to compensate speed glue's speed)

Last year I bought a lightly used BT555 [AN] for just $25 shipped. And just yesterday I received an even lighter used, sealed, beautiful P5OO [ST], shipped all for just $35!!  If my old Banda Dacota 5-ply [AN] feels like a Cadillac, the P500 is the Rolls Royce!!
SOOO much feeling and dwell.  I like it better than the BT555, which I think has a hollowed out handle (like Stiga's WRB system), so the P500 feels more stable in the hand.  It feels a whole lot like my old Donic Waldner Offensiv (grey handle) which is similar contruction (Limba/Spruce/Ayous, to P500's - Koto/Spruce/Ayous)

Count me in the club for good! Smile

Ya, good quality blades and good value also.

I used the P700 for a long time. Currently using BT555 ST handle and loving it. A real 'do all' blade. Enough flex and kick for looping, stiff enough with crisp feel of spruce for hitting and blocking, stable on the short game, comfy handle as well.

IME, these blades are well designed for their intended style of play. Maybe that's why they have not released model after model as the formula is refined and correct ??

Oddly, I have P500, BT550, BT555, P700 and BT777, but the only one I like is BT550, which is a replica of Stiga Allround Classic.  It has the feel that I like, although performance wise, P500 is the best (do-it-all blade) as it is more balanced.

I own the P700, BT777, Ma Wenge Carbon and the Nittaku Runlox (a rebranded P500), and the best all around blade for me is still the P700. For my style it has the best balance of power, speed, control and versatility. The 7 plies make it great for hitting and blocking but the soft feel makes it very good for looping. The Ma Wenge in comparison has a feel that's a bit too hard for me, the BT-777 is a touch too fast for me, and the Runlox (P500) is great for looping but not as great for hitting.

I have found it here:   http://www.eacheng.net/index.php?act=detail&ID=944 but no more informations (some one in Spain sale it and i want to know if it is a good buy).
If it is a real avalox, how much it cost??
Thank you.

I've never seen or heard of that model. The writing and style looks legit, but of course this can be copied. It's not listed on the Avalox website at all, and all their newer blades have the Avallo AVX symbol, so this makes me suspicious.

I'm currently using BT777 and tend to switch to J-Power. Anyone using J-Power can give me some comparisons? I need a blade that have sweeter touch, still fast and not heavy.

I have P700 flared (Stiga Master type). Good blade but the handle is a bit too short-becomes head heavy .
More springy than Clipper.

I have BT555, BT777, P500, P700, and Ma Wenge Carbon.  I play cpen.  These blades are all really good quality.  I prefer the P700 the best because of its speed for blocking and comfort of the handle.

Ha this looks like an old thread but what the heck I need to jump in. I love that Avalox/ AVX is not so well know...that keeps the demand low and the quality high. I adore my P 500, it's like the best kept secret as far as blades are concerned. Everything is perfect, weight, balance, grip, sweet spot, flex and power. Build quality is high and the cosmetics are tasteful. A great old school blade that works well with different rubbers and playing levels. Mine has the Nittaku metal tag....Nittaku Runlox may be the P 500's younger sister not sure about that though. Works great with Mark V, Barracuda, or Hammond X. I love this blade so much I want to buy stock in the company! LOL

Like I said before in my previous posts I was in love with my HK 655 St  until I met this baby called BT777 Blue Thunder ,my first play with that blade was so impressive that I never returned to HK or any other blade since.Try one you won't be disappointed.

The difference would be BT777 comes lacquered from factory.  However, I would say that P700 feels softer.  BT777 feels more crisp and has more trampoline effect (catapult effect).

How would a P 500 (sealed) play with Galaxy Moon 2.0 38 deg both FH and BH? With Mark V was fast enough but didn't feel "direct" enough. Good control but spin was not enough on serves. With Mark V there was a feeling of flinging loops and hits not that solid, crisp contact. The word on Moon is that it is great for blocks and counter hits with a good loop ( not it's strongest point). I have played with Moon on BH with a Donic Power Carbon and was sold right away. Perhaps the P500 is not a good match with Moon...then again it is ok....what you guys think?

I recently tried Mark V HPS 2.0/ Mark V 2.0 on my P500 ST. and felt the Mark V's never felt so at home on a blade as the P500. This set-up remained fast with comfort. P500 is a great blade period for just about every player who thrives on topspin with good speed. It is a soft blade but still powerful away from table with the right rubber and thickness. Compared to BTY Primorac it is more forgiving but faster. Compared to BTY Korbel it is lighter, same speed, better touch and control. I think paired with a super rubbers like T05, Acuda S1, Calibra LT it would suit mid distance loopers to the max.

After a 30+ years break from TT since playing for primary school team, Recently acquired a new Avalox Ma Wenge C555  ST 87g,  put on T05 front and back.

I originally wanted to get a Galaxy/Yinhe 2024 after playing with one from another club member (it felt very light with Coppa X3 both sides and very easy to swing with ) but it's sold out everywhere.  Ended up with the C555 because I had some interest with the P500 and P700.  And the C555 is suppose to have a soft carbon feel.

In this back to TT journey,  nothing feels as good as a smash with a sardius though.  So much raw power. :D

Was tempted to get a BTY arylate carbon blade but never got a chance to hit with one with rubbers,  only manage to bounce a ball on some blades but they had a unfamiliar muted feel.

Will see how I go with this C555 while waiting for the opportunity to try an A/C blade. Incidentally, I did manage to play with a JM ZLC (T05) but it felt somewhat muted as well, although it was very light/easy to swing. Lucky I didn't love it enough to spend that kind of money... :)

One good thing about EJ'ing with Avalox ,  it's not a bank breaker compared to the EJ'ing with mainstream brands.
