Chen for World Champion? that would be a great surprise..
On evidence of his performance in English Open, it is a possibility. But the big guns like Ma Lin, Wang Hao, and Liqin will step their game up a notch at the WTTC.. Plus Ma Long will be back...

Ma Long is actually supposed to be in Qatar Open in two weeks, so we'll see if he is back to his regular strength.

The last time he took a time off tournaments, he came back a better player. He took his FH earlier on the rise and make it more devastating... I think if he plays to his best form, nobody can stop him to become the next world champ. He is the only player that consistently beat WLQ, Ma Lin, and lately Wang Hao too..

I bet that is because Ma was always behind -- They simply wanted him to wake up. But I'm not sure it would have mattered as Chen was playing too well. This also means WLQ was playing at a very high level to lose after deuce in 7th to Chen Smile

Well, they did not cheer for Chen in that one set he was behind at all - not even once. On the other hand, in the Ma Lin vs Wang Hao game they cheered for whomever was currently behind.

I really want the Chen Qi vs Alfredo Carneros game but I'm having some trouble with my flash video downloader. Is there someone else who has the game and could be so kind and post it, I would be enormously grateful...

at present situation next world singles tt championship is a chinese party.

i have never seen such a lot of good chinese players in peak game. they are bringing their level to unknown territory.

the only good thing it brings to an underdog player like timo is to play without any pressure. because the task looks really hard.

I wouldn't say Boll is an underdog... Didn't he just beat Chen Qi in DTTL (or ECL or something). His game is also peaking right now and I think he's only an underdog to a current 90% Wang Hao. All bets are off if he gets injured or plain choke in the WTTC, tho.

the timo boll  playing anything but WTTC OR OG is a different  player than the timo boll winning chinese in the bundesliga ,proturs..fans say that he can beat any player as long he is not injured..so he must have been injured in beijing, zagreb, shanghai, bercy

I mean at present. past story does not count. The Chen qi in the english open is not the Chen qi in the past. I have never seen this level of game. He is an underdog in the sense of beating several chinese players in a row.

yeah chen qi played very well..

a couple of months ago he had a string of matches in the superleague where  he was on fire as well beating xu xin, zhang chao, and qiu yike in an impressive way... those 3-4 clips are on youtube somewhere..

Back to Back Chop Blocks! just recalling that makes me smile aha

I also thing at the moment every chinese player is an underdog at beating a couple of chinese players in a row, maybe not wang hao before..

I was wondering if people could say where they got the video from and what quality it is, because if it is ittf rubbish then might as well watch it there.  Definately not worth stuffing around with mega upload
