Was just looking at the results, Tiago lost 4-0 to Saive, that's freakin hillarious. Also Crisan beat Samsonov, and then loses to Robert Gardos, beats the top guy, loses to the bottom...he is so spotty...
Also Kreanga beat Ovtcharov and Pavlovich has won all 3 of her matches to break up the otherwise all Chinese semi-final.

So weird, he stops playing in the pro tour and finally wins something resembling a major title, but that's what you get when you have Boll and Suss drop out, a WR31 guy winning.
Also chopper loses in her final she tried so hard...but still a good showing for the Euro champ, winning Euro championships and final in the top 12, pretty good. Edited by Jonan - 02/06/2011 at 12:12pm |

man, Kreanga was really on fire, indeed :) Honestly, I didn't think he could even beat Werner but here it is, beating Samsonov in the finals and becoming a champion. DAMN!!!!:)
btw: is there any way we can download those vids from laola.tv? PS: Is it just my taste or the commentator was really awful? in addition, he sounds like an 18-year old T_T Edited by vutiendat1337 - 02/06/2011 at 1:22pm |

Sigh...where are the young people?

After the final Kreanga stated that he was working on improving his fitness before the tournament, which might explain why he played so well on the Europe Top 12 vs his latest tournaments. Maybe he had an injury? Who knows. Anyways, Kreanga was definitely playing very well today because he was pulling off amazing shots. Samsonov was playing well too, so you have to give credit to Kreanga for beating Samsonov in this tournament. |

The main reasons ,in my opinion, are:
1.The obvious chinese supremacy both women and men
2.Financial part.A kid cant fix as a goal in life to be a t.t. pro as long as he gets 50-100 times less money than a field-tennis player.
I remember in 2009,at W.C. in Belgium,there were a soccer match same time as t.t. matches .
Although local hero J.M. Saive was playing ,only about 20 spectators were in the hall.No comment

Kreanga appeared with very good fitness. In the past, he lost many matches from 3-1 ahead because of his fitness. His aggressive style requires an exceptional fitness.

Samsonov had previously lost to Kreanga a few times including the round of 16 at the 2003 World Championships.

Crazy Final...
Kreanga's BH is crazy, so powerful. Some incredible rallies too.. watching Kreanga ripping those BH away from the table, probably 6-7 metres back is a sight to behold. I don't think there will be another player with such explosive BH.. ever... |

That rally at 9-9 in the 7th is probably the best rally i have ever seen! Kreange is out of the screen most of it... and for Kreange to produce that sort of power and agility is incredible! He had been doing that all game... he wanted this final so bad! Totally deserved it!

I was there the whole weekend
In the first group-match Kreanga lost to Smirnov and he wasn't playing very well, but he grew in the tournament and how!
Calin rocks!

Yupe, that was the best rally, in terms of quality and it's importance in such deciding moment of the match.. both players was fearless.. KReanga's coach jumped off his seat when Kreanga won that one.. Did you know that Kreanga spent some time in England when he was a junior? I read about that somewhere.. yeah, he really wanted it this time, for sure. with boll out, he was probably thinking like this would be his best (and, perhaps, last) chance for a euro top-12 title. he said in the post-game interview that he didn't play much last year, cuz he was working on his conditioning. well, evidently, the work has paid off! |

Kudos to Kreanga, he is like a pocket battleship. Fully deserved to win it. Must be one of the fittest players for his age and this level of play.

World war 2 German naval vessels famous for sinking British cargo ships? <---- I was a ww2 buff and had a little flip book of all the planes and ships used.
