Try 90/10 or 80/20 ratio of RC/Lamp Oil. It sticks well and boost the rubber a little better too. |

after applying 2 coats of RC on the sponge, I only apply RC to the blade. Using RC, I've NEVER had any issues with removing/transferring rubbers to another blade.

I would only worry if I have balsa blade (because of the veneer are uneven and tend to absorb wbg) and strong wbg like free chack. I've transferred mines to hinoki bats with 0 problems. But I only glue the bats since my rubbers already have glue on the sponge when I first glue them.

Hey guys,
Is it ok to use Tearmender or Yes! Paste for this rubber?
I really don't want the sponge to rip :)
thanks

@kelvin: I think M1 has thicker topsheet. I've used it many times in the past, that one is tackier. a lot heavier, and harder overall, kinda dead feeling. My friend and I referred it to "tires" along with kokutaku 868..

Red rubbers from the last order are heavier by 6-9 grams uncut.

@dual700. Sorry didn't have time to play with it yet. Only managed to put glue on it for now. But if it behaves like the old Mercury then it will need a few cleans to get grippy.
I think the topsheet is the same like the Mercury, Yin He probably just used different sponges or they would have to get it re-certified with the ITTF. That is what i think anyways. |

I played with the M2 tonight. I had the black 2.2 34 degree on my V-6. I think it is still too sticky for me, I need to wipe it down to get it to the grippy state. I didn't lose any matches but had to work harder to win the points.
The M2 plays well, it does everything I want. Good spins, touch and power. Somehow, I just have a feeling that it doesn't pair up well with the V-6. I'll transfer it to the Photino and play it tomorrow.

FYI: Yin he doesn't put "2" on their rubbers for some reason. Venus 2, M2, Mars 2, they all don't have 2..

Opened up a black one a few minutes ago. Very light rubber even with the protection sheet on.
Topsheet looks like the regular Mercury. Even the stamp on the top sheet name is Mercury and not Mercury 2. Sponge is different from Mercury 1 and not porous. |

Just got my Mercury 2 in the mail. The red ones i got are in vacuum seal pack with the paper covers while the black ones were just in the vacuum seal.
The 33 hardness i got feels a bit softer then Sriver EL so i am guess it is probably like 35 on the Butterfly scale. |

I'll have more info/data after next week. I need to play a few more matches, but for now I'd say its on par with the CJ8000.

@dual700, Thanks for the tip.
I'll be playing with the M2 for a few weeks, it looks promising so far.

No obvious/palpable difference, except for the declared hardness. So far.

Any difference between the no paperback cover and the vacuum sealed bag?

36 and 37 play out of the box. BTW, the last 36 black rubbers I got yesterday from ttnpp had no paperback cover. Instead, they used the plastic vacuum sealed bag to stamp on.

Clean the surface couple of times, JL..
IMO it comes to life after few sessions... After that tack is gone..

I received my M2 shipment yesterday. I'll be playing with it tonight. I opened the black one, first impression is that is lighter than the typical Chinese rubbers. Slightly tacky, almost sticky.
I ordered the 34 degree sponge 2.2mm and put it on my V-6 blade. I hit the ball a few times after gluing and it felt kinda dead. But I'll wait a day after the gluing before I play a match.
More to come.
