I have a mixed feeling with YEO because it's a linear blade, you get what you put in. I tried the pseudo Ma Lin setup, but doesn't like my FH because it feel not strong enough. I need to go all out for each loop, then it's tiring. Looks like some of you folks go for the Jap/Euro rubber route. I might take it out again and stick on some cake-sponge rubbers to try again.

Would Stiga Boost TP be appropriate for FH for the YEO? (For offensive play, hitting and looping.)

I tried similar setup as you. TG2 I used is tuned, and it is a great rubber. However, my YEO is too fast and tuned TG2 is also very fast rubber (not many people believe it). It is ok for me to play this setup. It is very good for choping, pushing, blocking, looping and very powerful. Unfortunately, the spin is about average for close table play and arc is too low.
I am still more comfortable with TG2 + YE. My YE had a pretty hard top layer (but not as hard as YEO), TG2 works better in YE than in YEO.
I believe that soft rubber fits YEO better.

YEO ST non-JTTA FH: Neo H3P BH: Joola Express2 (Max)
For training setup YEO ST non-JTTA FH: Neo H3C BH: LKT Rapid Sound (still changing on LKT, looking for rubber that similar with Joola Express2 but with cheaper price)
I don't think YEO is a linear blade... it's a fast blade when I hit hard until I can feel the ball hit to the wood and feel it spring out... But when I hit the ball not very hard it feel a bit slow, specially when brush it on the table. It took me more than a month to adapt with YEO's characteristics... very unique feeling and sound... and various gear could be produce specially with Neo H3. |

I've got a penhold version. Currently using H3 (regular, 2.2mm) on the forehand side and Palio CJ8000 Biotech on the reverse side. This setup works pretty well and feels pretty solid (to me). Prior to this setup, I had always wondered what was so special about the YEO when I had a Globe 999/Quattro sponge (2.0mm) glued on the forehand. The Globe 999 setup surprisingly just felt dead/lifeless.
