I know there are lots of die hard single sided JPen or CPen penholders here (one sided SP or inverted, but NO RPB).
What is your set up?
-Blade?
-Rubber?
Thanks!

Wow your friend has a shunfeng? Thats impressive. Jiang Jialiang played with a Shunfeng. Funny story, he broke his Shunfeng, and Xi Enting gave him his old one. That is why if you watch him in 83/85 and then in 87, its two completely different looking blades.

That blade is older than me, 6ply basswood, very hard, however not as heavy as PF4 since it is pretty small , it looks like piece of antique after 40 years of use

when i play group of 3 and i am sure that i won't qualify i use a butterfly senkoh-5 black with a tibhar torpedo max...

it is very good to hit and it helps to evacuate frustration...

Shunfeng was a chinese tt company that was huge back in the 60s-70s. It was used by almost all the chinese penhold players at the time before the PF4 came along. You can still find them on Taobao, usually cost around 100 dollars.

DHS 08 blades are made of basswood, not maple, and there are too many variations including a recent release 4~5 years ago, other brands are like Shield, Peony, Sprout, etc

And I don't personally recommend buying Shunfeng off Taobao, too many fakes, too risky

personally i will only trust my friend's shunfeng, all others are preassumed to be fakes until proven otherwise, but i don't really know how to verify them...i've seen someone hawking shunfeng and even claiming it has never been played...

Melarimsa, are you going to buy another blade ? I would recommend single ply hinoki if you do not play rpb. Otherwise Nittaku Violin C-pen for Chinese style or J-PH (square) and J-RH (rounded square) for Japanese style.
