Blade in in very good condition like new. Not for sale anymore knowing that it's fake now. Edited by icc0191 - 07/25/2011 at 2:23pm |

I don't know the weight of the blade. ding is very small and I can fix it for you too.
I have to go to my friends lab to check the weight. Let me know if the weight is important to you. |

Not to spoil this post...but that blade has the normal "cloned" serial # on it. I have one with same # and found out it was the most highly used serial # on knockoffs. But I will say it has some differential aspects than the one I have. Seller may not of known of its true authenticity at purchase, so no ill towards icc0191.

I hope you are right about this. This is bad news for my friend. Can you send me a picture of your blade
with serial #? I have to see the picture before I can take your words. |

I think Rich215 is right. I just compared the box with the box that I got from ttrubberman and this one
doesn't have the manufacturing date on it. Also doesn't have numbers on the DHS round hologram sticker. But by just compare the blades, I couldn't tell. Great job cloning! |

@icc0991
sorry to know your HKing is a "Clone".
I thought I've seen/read somewhere in the FS topics that there're in fact some forum member(s) are (were) selling these knock-offs/clones/fakes or whatever we call those.
And we allow ourselves to be indulged in the "How well/good would these play vs Real ones" thoughts.
I think we should start a "Boycott Faked/Cloned DHS products Club"... Nah...just kidding, as if there're not enough clubs out there already.
I was just bewildered prior to this "Enlightenment" that why your HKing FL has been sitting there for so long & receiving little attention as the asking price, imho, is quite reasonable.
Really sorry about this & thanks Richie to let us know.
Still, I hope you could find a good home for this HKing.
hmmmm...btw, wonder how good it's compared to "Real" HKing FL? Edited by tiehwen - 07/23/2011 at 11:38pm |

What's embarrassing is that I bought this blade for my friend. I never had a chance to play with this.
My friend tried it couple of times and didn't like it. He asked me to sell it for him and look what I found out. I asked the guy who sold me the blade for the refund. He sold me as new blade so either he knows where it came from or he intentionally sold me the fake one. If I don't hear anything back from him in next few days, his name and user name will be posted here. This blade might play just as good as real one but that's not the point here. We paid to have the real one and we expect to receive the real one. Right? |

I believe the seller himself didn't know about it. Hi said that he himself bought it from the local seller.
Since he promised to give me the refund, I won't release his name. But I will show everyone in "equipment forum" about the real and fake HK blade soon. I hope this will help all our honest members how to pick-out the Fake clones. Like someone mentioned before, clone producers don't have expensive equipment to make the copy. |

I took some pictures in VGA which is in smaller file for email but having problem uploading at this
point. I always did it this way to upload pictures but it's not working. My photo size is 130kb in jpeg. Can somebody tell me what my problem is? If someone wants to see the photo of real and fake one, let me know. I will email you the pictures. Now that I have the fake one and the real one from ttrubberman, it is so obvious. I just didn't realize that someone would go though such a way to make the fake blades. Thanks to fake one, now I became pro fake detector. Edited by icc0191 - 07/24/2011 at 10:05pm |

Hi,
I bought the DHS Hurricane Hao (fl.) and don't know if it's real since I see all these discussion. If anyone can tell me how to distinguish the real Hurricane Hao and the fake-one, please tell me. My forum id is: bestchamp. Thanks |

That is true to some extent. Probably not the same glues used, but possibly the same wood? I have one of these knock-off's too and I knew prior to buying it ($70-80) what it was. I saw detailed pictures of it before I purchased it. It looked extremely similar in regards to the outer ply. Hard to tell if the inner plys are the same or close though. But I never used the blade after having it for about a year now. I have also never played with the real HK version to know how it is supposed to play. For me....I did not care if it was authentic, I just wanted to try it to see how it played. Cant tell you how many times I was temped to put some hardbat rubber or sandpaper on it recently. |

@Richie It doesn't make sense to me, knowing that it was a knock-off, to shell out $70-80 just to buy it to see how it played. Really not my cuppa tea to do so. I'd spend that amount of $$$$ to get an authentic "Butterfly" (Oops, my bad, Btfly again... but I luv Btfly blades) blade.
I was given a broken "Genuine" (again, how would I know, eh?) HKing FL by my fellow t/t teen friend, I just couldn't tell what/how so special that blade is?

Bestchamp, If you send me your email address, I'll send you the compared photos. Once you see the compared photos, it is very easy to tell. on the Fake one, detail work just isn't there.
Too bad that I still can't upload the photos. Edited by icc0191 - 07/25/2011 at 2:22pm |
