They were eliminated by the other two world class players - Zhen Wang & Zhou Xin.

Then you really haven't figured out the level of Zhou's play. Check put Zhou's history. He was the only one except for Zhen Wang to get to 7 games against Thomas Keinath at this year's US Open. Until 2008 Zhou was playing the Chinese Super League. One really needs to be a world class player to even get to play the Chinese Super League.

I know Zhou's level.  Yang Zi's level was significantly higher than his just a few years ago, and even at this moment he still is.

To be precise, he played in the Super League ONLY in 2008 and played just 3 singles matches, winning 1 and losing 2. In doubles with Liu Yang, he had 2 wins and 5 losses. In 2009 he played in the 1A league (the second division). So he obviously didn't quite make it in the Super League - which doesn't mean that he's not 2700 caliber. Not sure about "world class" though.

Ratings Central gives him wins over Rosskopf and Wosik in the Chinese second league in 2009, but that doesn't make sense because Rosskopf and Wosik never played in that league. Anyone know what that might refer to?

I was only going by world rankings.  Yang Zi at WR 60 and Lin Ju at WR 88 - I expected them to do better.  But I do understand that Eugene Wang is WR 143 and Zhou Xin being a 2700+ player from China with wins against Jorg Rosskopf and Cheng Yinghua, he's not someone to be taken lightly which is why I wrote "slightly surprised".

I have played Zhou Xin. His opening loop his very well placed at the perfect arc. He is a careful server and attempts to gain control of the point as soon as possible. He plays a smart and efficient game and is capable of a lot. Also, if you look at the match against Zhen Wang, Zhen struggles in the first game with Xin's slower spiny loops. They are very strange, almost like a penholder.Difficult to counter and block. Btw, he crushed me of courseLOL

BTW he is everywhere!!! I think trudell likes him.

Considering my bad performance at the event, I don't deserve to be in any pics LOL

Well, I didn't have any really bad losses (lost to nobody below 2216 rating) but didn't advance out of any of my round robins..

When I said a few, I meant near 54 weeks late.  I posted the intended link correctly.
