Would most appreciate it if anyone can upload women single between "Ni Xia Lian and Wu Yang".   Or let me know the access to this match.  Thank you.

Ni Xia Lian uses long-pips on one side, that gives most of her opponents a hard time.

this match was not played on a tv-table, so there will be no video. but i watched this match live and i can tell you it was quite boring. wang hao played without fire, moved slowly, always looking at his racket in disgust. many unforced errors by wang hao, easy win for hao shuai.

even world champion ding ning had a hard time. she won the sixth set 12-10 and it was definitely a tight game, because ni got used to ding ning's service and ding ning really had to fight and was obviously eager not to go into a deciding seventh set. the organizer preferred to show wang gueyu vs li jie on the tv-table. there seemed to be a priority up to the quarter finals to show austrian or german players in the first row, then matches with european players, because only asians survived into the later stages.

Ni is more than a long pips player.   She also uses short pips (or medium?),  she twiddles and, she is a left hander.         This is quite a combination at that level.          Perhaps not surprising that she causes problems for young players who never faced her.

Unfortunately, ittv pre-determines the TV-tables and they can't really adapt on-the-fly to interesting match-ups.

I would love to see her matches with Wu Yang and Ding Ning.

i took some pictures. i regret that i forgot my camcorder. on one side she played a reverse rubber, she used it most of the time just for her service. then she immediately twiddled und played with long pips, very often hitting. as fas as i can see on a close-up it is a butterfly feint long 2 or 3. sometimes she twiddled twice and used the reverse rubber to disturbe ding ning's stroke formation and rhythm. very enjoyable for expert, but i guess for most viewers confusing, because she stands near the table and is hitting the ball very quick, always twiddling. so it is hard to understand why her opponent made a mistake.

I believe Ni plays short pips and long pips.

She does not twiddle during play in recent videos, but for some reason I thought she did that in the past.

Ding Ning might have benefited from Wu Yang's loss.     Also being an attacker, she could take initiative better.       But I was watching live scoring, and it was certainly close.    If Ni won the last game, I don't know if DN would necessarily win.

your information (ooakforum) is 3 years old. i stood 5 meters away few days ago. believe me. she twiddled and she played one reverse rubber. no doubt. maybe she changes her rubbers for experiment. and maybe she doesn't twiddle if not necessary, because her opponent can not return her pip-strokes. i watched her blade very closely, sometimes she even twiddled twice, so that she played with the same rubber again, but her opponent may think she changed. of course one can see the colour of the rubber, but sometimes too late, because while stroking the ball one has to concentrate on the ball and will not see meanwhile her twiddling, just at the last moment, when ni is already hitting the ball in return.

Awesome. 1.34GB file.

Resolution is high quality and much better (especially when I turn on deinterlacing the scanlines go away) and artifact-free compared to the ittf.com output.

Now all we need is Janus to edit this down to the Full Match Short Form version. And reload it up to megaupload or something before YouTube kills the video quality with its heavy compression.

So how do you view these? I downloaded the two parts of Ma Long versus Jike.  The files come out as <name>.zip.001 and <name>.zip.002.  Couldn't open the files under those names.  So then I tried renaming without the .001 and .002, so they became normal zip files.  Still couldn't open them.  So what am I missing? Something new regarding zip files? Thanks.

You just concatenate the two files and then unzip them.

e.g.

cat name.zip.* > name.zip
unzip name.zip
vlc name.mp4

==========================

cat is the Unix command for concatenating files, if you have Windows use copy /b on the above instructions [in Windows you must use command prompt for writing commands (it opens when you: Start, Run: cmd)]

** Also, you could download/install 7-zip program (its free) here
(do not rename anything) and open the file <name>.zip.001,
the program does unzipping and concatenating together Smile

See the info from Janus700 in the last Post. It is OK.
The files are zip with 7-Zip !!! Use this Programm. Do not rename anything. Mark the *.zip.001-file and unzip.

HJsplit also worked fine here.
I just clicked on "join", input the file .001, then "start". This creates 1 WinRar file. Then all I had to do was uncompressing the file.

I had error "Unsupported compression method" when trying 7-zip. Not the first time either..

I would recommend using WinRAR instead of 7-zip, for archiving and splitting. It always works and nobody reported any problems with those archives
