Ma Lin has problem with bh dominant players. He had problems against zjk, and he lost matches against players with a bh dominant play. the 3 loses against the other russian guy, robinot and skachkov.

In this game it is incredible how well the russian receives service what it is ma lin main weapon. he even scored with the bh direct points receiving service.

I do not think Ma Lin forgets how to service. He is the same Ma Lin facing trouble against bh players.

Skachkov is playing very well lately.

hard to tell from the angle but Xu Xin's serves looked kinda illegal, blocking the view of the blad with his body, probably why Baum had so much trouble returning serve. Again tough to tell though.

indeed he is playing very well! losing to Sharath Kamal Achanta just last weekend for german league. he did win 1 set against kamal though, i guess thats always an excellent indicator of how awesome someone is playing lately

Well then there's only one explanation: Ma Lin sucked.

Skachkov not only played well against Ma Lin. Also in last sweden pro tour. at the end lost to ma long but his match was closer than the score shows.

in anycase anyone can watch by himself in the video. or do you think he didn't play well?. i have never seen a player making these kind of direct receiving points with the bh against ma lin.

both skachkov and ovtcharov prevailed clearly against ma lin and wang hao without any kind of excuse.

they won with a wide margin. they crushed them.

Some outrageous points in those 2 matches above - particularly from Ryu -  Korea put up a great fight -   real no holds barred TT -  looked like Ryu was really up for it,  just shows what sort of shot-making is needed to dent Ma Long and win games but he is just too strong, in my view world number 1 by some way at present. Hope he can maintain his form in the next major

I am wondering a bit why China did not play Ding Ning in the women's final...she is a better match up against the Japanese players who are small but very fast, than Guo Yan. My best guess is that they are feeling great about her and playing others to evaluate who will go to the Olympics.

Thank you guys for the great video clips! That was a rather exciting tournament, some wonderful matches played.

And probably it will be remembered as the event where we realized (with sadness) that it's time for Ma Lin to retire (at least from CNT). We all get older...
