Why is it such a big thing with Persson beating Fang Bo?

Janus, will you be uploading the women's final onto YouTube?  Dare I say, it was one of the best women's matches I have seen in a very long time.  Liu Shiwen seems to have greatly improved in recent times.

I suspect the top nations have been putting their players through some heavy training in advance of london 2012, but dont worry the training will taper off, and there is time for them to recover before the big day!

Liu Shiwen beat Ding Ning in this korea Open.
They played against each other in the past.
What was their records of win / loss against each other?

Sorry to have asked this question, it will be too time-consuming to find out.
Please just ignore this post.  Or, forum moderator can delete it.

Thanks.

Well, if I have to take a guess, I will also guess that Ding won more.
I agree with you on that.

Too time consuming to dig out all the records.

nah... i think liu shiwen's record against ding ning is overwhelmingly in favor of liu shiwen. Her quick attacks always confounds Ding Ning's defence... However, Ding Ning won in the most important occasion - the WTTC 2011, which made all the difference to her career....

According to the below link, Liu is 3 to 2 in the finals against Ding, not that much advantage Liu is said to have. The problem with Liu is she lost more to foreign players. This is a big no-no to any Chinese national player no matter how many times she/he can beat the best team mate.

"Guo Yue will be injured and Liu Shiwen will replace her :)"
----
No chance at all. The one who plays the team event cannot be replaced according to the ITTF rule for Olympic games. That's why Guo Yue withidrew from the the open to avoid any possible injury (or worsen her existing injury).

You're the MAN, Janus Smile
Thank you so much.

Do you have anywhere specific that you keep all your full length matches (available to download)?

Here is a higher quality version I was at first experimenting to see if I could track the ball in various ways to make it easier to see.  Gave up after the first few points.

It's just the first game 11:9 in HD.
