Many thanks to Rob and Vigo. I've been trying to learn this serve on my own and it wasn't working. That forward push with the shoulder helped me out and also the contact with the ball behind the body is really helpful advice. I am a penholder but the same applications apply on this type of serve. I am able to get alot of sidespin with this serve mixed with some topspin, but i cannot get any underspin. Maybe the contact point on the ball is different but i tried brushing under the ball with the stroke and it feels very awkward and alittle painful. The only way for me to keep the serve short is if i correctly toss the ball back so that the hit occurs slightly behind the body. Anything near the front gets launched with alot of power and long. Once again thanks for the vid as it did help me out alot on this serve, and one more thing. You can get ALOT of fake motions with this serve and you can even do an outside-in serve and have the reverse serve follow through which is so SWEET!
