I am testing it on a Galaxy H9 Offensive blade. It is quite heavy, 49-50 grams cut. Tacky topsheet which will pick up the ball for a few seconds. Sponge had a shiny glue layer on similar to Grip S although there is no info on this on the packaging I only put glue on the blade. Sponge is a quite a bit harder than Omega IV Pro and Asia. I have played with it a only a few times so far, at the moment feels somewhat slow due to the tacky topsheet. Rubber to me is similar to Grip S. Spin is very high. When the rubber is worn in more I will be giving a more detailed review. The only other 'review' I saw so far was at

I do have some Sword Maze rubbers... tried it myself, don't really like it. Felt that it is not as spinny as it claims to be, not sure whether you need to break in. Definitely less spin then H3 but more speed than H3.

You can have it for $22 shipped (new). PM me if interested.

It is said to be tried and like by Michael Maze himself hence the name. Don't know if he had talk about this rubber anywhere.

Thanks to members who posted here! Could somebody can compare this rubber to more popular rubbers like rasant,t05, aurus ? It seems this rubber is near to t05.

I found a review by someone who use H3 for many years. He said Maze topsheet is tacky, but unlike other Chinese rubber, it has a soft, bouncy and fragile sponge. Came pretuned with glue ready to stick. Good for FH with hard bat. Not so good with BH, may be because of the tack. One good thing about it is that H3 need reglue regularly but Maze can be as good just out of the pack.

I have no experience with Maze but another similarly packaged Sword Nano which is invert with large pip for fast attack player.

Could you write a few words about this Sword Nano? I am interested in finding a cheaper Chinese rubber for my FH that can substitute the hardest ESN rubbers currently on the market.

I did tried a piece of red Maze. Compare to H3, both sticky. Maze is definitely less spin, but it is definitely bouncy, and fast. Spin wise, definitely no match to T05, Aurus...

Maze does comes preglued, just like H3 Neo.

One interesting point, when you hit hard, the ball tends to land near the opponent baseline when you expect it to go off the table edge.... Btw, I've given the rubber away after trying for 3 to 4 times.... a bit disappointed...

Maybe I should try a black instead... haha.

Will see what else I can dig out for Nano : )

Other new rubbers are Mouse HERO and Mouse KING (both in purple packaging) Probably same top sheet as the old HERO and KING but different sponge. Did try the Mouse HERO (red) for a short while, felt that it is spinnier than MAZE. But not as sticky.

I have it on BH of PG7 and Red in color. Sponge is also blood red. It is non tacky and bouncy. I found it has little spin when new no matter how hard I try, but seems to get better after some use. It is as package said good for Control and Power. Definitely made for power shots with large pip. Throw is medium and long. Only about half what Maze cost. Mine is not vacuum seal or preglued. Not sure if Sword had made 2 versions of this rubber or not.

Thank you for your opinions. I am getting hold of a Sword King Enhanced, maybe it will be tacky.

I do not have the new Sword King Enhanced but according to description it is indeed tacky. I have the first gen Sword King which is tacky too. I also have first and second gen Sword Hero and those topsheets are non-tacky. So basically there are 3 versions so far for King and Hero series. 1st gen is for Speed Glue, 2nd gen red sponge for VOC free glue, and 3rd gen is using mousse sponge.

According to Sword, their King series is tacky and made for carbon blades, while Hero series is non-tacky and made for all wood blades. There is another RG series for composite blades but no mousse sponge version yet.

Sword Maze is a good rubber. Best after one month of use. Otherwise it looks old, as they would playing with her for at least a year, but plays  excellent. The best part is that it already has a film of glue. You only need to put a layer of glue on blade at first time and when you change rubbers you  just press the new rubber on the blade.

It is tacky, but not as much as 729FX or PF4. Tackiness last long. ( 3 months then I change it)

It is fast. The fastest tacky rubber with which I played.

It is soft. I use 34 degree sponge. Topsheet is soft too.

Maybe a little heavy, probably due to the tuning , glue and protecting cover. (10 rubbers in the package = 1 kg)

Good price if you buy at least 10 pieces (eacheng)

Glued up my Maze black on my Yokohama Yue 2.

Initial feel.
OMG, it played so different to Red Maze. Black Maze is very nice and spinny... My FH to FH drill was as good. Throw is high. Just tried for 30 mins... Liked!

2nd hit.
The black maze is definitely way spinnier than red Maze, and I like it. Loop and smashes are good.
Still Liked!

Hi, i would like to know the real difference between these colours and black one since i can´t read chinese.

There´s an extensive explanation on sword catalogue, page 24-25. You can also download it from their website.

www.swordtt.com

I would be pleased if someone could translate me the text and make me a comparison to GripS Europe....

Maze Red (Red colour sponge)
- recommended for FH, offensive looping game
- Tacky
- Spin + control
(IMO, this is quite similiar to the 1st version of Maze that come in a black packaging, as mentioned in my above thread)

Maze Blue (whitish blue colour sponge)
- recommended for BH
- Semi tacky
- lighter sponge (about 3 gram)

Maze Green (green colour sponge)
- Recommended for FH, offensive attacking game
- Tacky

All rubbers come in hardness 44, 46, 48

I've tried all three, and I quite like the combo using Bue Feather (close to a ALC blade) with Red 46 on FH, Blue 44 on BH.
IMO, Red is the most spinnest. The Green that I've is hardness 39 (not sure why it is not listed in the catalog). Don't like it on the FH on a ALC blade... will try on other blade.

Many thanks for your insightfull answer.

So according to your descricion Maze RED would be something faster like DHS TG3 but spinnier, and Maze green would be control-spin oriented like H3?

Do the come factory tuned, or untuned? Are they faster than Neo series? Do they need to be boostered for an advanced player +2200?

Once again, thanks for your reply.

Im curious what color the sponge is on these sword rubbers.  The one I tried had kind of dull reddish pink sponge and poor looking top, which seemed like a goldway product.

I've never tried TG3 and boosting rubber... so can't comment on this.

The Red feel more like H3, very tacky. But bouncier than normal H3. The rubber packaging is just like H3 Neo packaging. It come pre-glued, so you just need to apply glue on the blade.

I've also updated the colour of the sponge in my earlier post. They are name after the sponge colour... lol

Tremendous information!!!Wink

In what point do you think that cohabits the 'Classic' Black Maze between the rest of the family.

IMHO 'classic' Maze is very spinnier. More or similar than red?.

Thanks again!!!Clap

I have both with me now, iMO, red feel spinnier. Probably because my classic maze is much older ;)

Both the classic and red have similiar red color sponge.

The black one is the 1st generation Maze.
For the 2nd generation (with white packaging), they come in Red, Blue and Green "Maze" Print on white packaging. See above thread for explanation on their differences.
