Only one real upset, though the Olympics predicted a close match.  Maybe if it had gone 7 not 5...  I'm watching the match now and it is awesomely competitive, though lots of long serves and ensuing bad returns and bad third balls.
I like putting heavy topspin on the ball...

Zhang Jike is in really weird form. Sometimes he just goes crazy and wins against everyone, other days he just looks lazy and loses to many players he shouldn't be losing to...

The match is like a Victor Hugo novel - would have been fun to watch without knowing the result because it would drive both Zhang and Samsonov fans nuts...

Bravo Vlady! Wow. He (and Joerg) had given the match a lot of thought. This result is so important for Europe... Too bad Vlady is not becoming any younger... One thing that I am not sure what to think about is the sound of the rubbers... man, they really put stuff on it...

I would rather be comparing TT to Emil Zola's creations...

Thank you everyone and thank you Janus for your hard work as always.

I was watching Mizutani - Freitas game. Mizutani took a time out in the final set(5th set).
Looked like Zhang Jike coach was talking to Mizutani directly. It's very interesting. I wondered what language they were using?

The name is Xiao Zhan(肖戰).  He is about the most proficient in English on the CNT.  So there you go.  As an aside, the other gentlemen sitting next to him is Park Do Cheon(朴道天) from South Korea, technical committee chairman of the ATTU.

A pity that Freitas couldn't inspire Europe with his performance.  Absolutely amazing given the ranking differential.

That is a good question because about a year ago there was an attempt to interview Jun in English, and that did not go very well...
