Timo Boll Spark-too heavy for it's mediocre speed

Samsonov Alpha-best control

Waldner Dotec AR-best blend of speed, weight, and control, plus the handle is orgasmic

Peace out.

Have been receiving TT training on regular basis for one and half a years.  I currently have 6, and always try my best to avoid buying more even though I enjoy seeing other blades from major 0nline stores.

Stiga Offesive Classic

Butterfly Balsa X5 Carbon

Avalox P500 (Nittaku version)

Avalox BT 555 (Nittaku version)

Yasaka Extra 7

Butterfly 1-ply Cypress

I mainly use the two Avalox and Yasaka.  Thinking to give away the X5 Carbon to friend.  The 1-pile Cypress is basically for seeing as the wood is simply a natural beauty.   But after trying out my friends Darker 1-pile Hinoki today (woo, it is very good for looping and with very good feeling), I may probably put rubber sheets on it.

sorry been out to pratice for a few days. I got this hot girl coach that won the San Diego open 2 weekends ago. I went there to watch with my other coaches, Tawny Banh and Crystal Huang. Man, she is hot both as a player and looks. She is staying in Los Angeles for a few months while her boyfriend is playing in leahues in Spain. He is rank 110 in the world and second in Spain. That's why he goes there to play. Too many good players in China and only a few get famous.

Anyway, she is a defender and chopper but can loop and smash as well. I am learning footwork and how to return heavily chopped balls.

Sorry to digress about my blades. I only been playing for 10 months but I have been coached all this time at least 2 times a week. I now also own DHS Wang Hao now got some sheets of chinese natl team H2 H3  orange as well as H3 blue sponge. I also got skyline III with blue sponge from Wang Hao personal supply. Got it from Germany WTTC 06.

Its difficult to play both Shakehand and penhold ( both Jpen and Cpen ) as well as Short and Medium pibs on Backhand of my Shakehand Malins. I can block and smash quite well but cannot loop. I can spin a little to deal with lowballs to get it over the net. It is kind of fun when I can smash backspin balls back when my oppornent expect loop. My other Malin have both smooth rubbers and the angle is quite different with backhand vs rbh of cpen. My coaches tell me to stick with one style but they put up with my experimentation since I have not played that long. I think  am like a 1700 player now and improving rapidly. Well, I better with all these lessions. My other friend been playing about 3 months before me just won the 1800 and under in San Diego and also coached by the same coaches.

Better spend more time in playing and practicing then chatting on the web will make a better player. My coaches don't spend time with blades and rubbers since they can play with almost anything and do well. I also can adapt very quickly to  my different blades and rubbers in a a few minutes of hitting.  Good luck in your search for the ultimate blade and rubber for your game and style.

You are missing nothing. If you like your blade, then you are the lucky guy who is happy with one blade and you don't have to worry yourself about other blades. It means that you are also strong against temptation by other blades.

I guess I just have been told so many times that if I change equipment I won't get better as quickly... but I would love to have my hands on the Timo Boll Spirit, Nittaku Acoustic, Borko and Sons and a Darker blade if I could.

I know 2 guys that each have 100+(Butterfly, Banda, Donic, Stiga, TSP, PANDA, Galaxy, DHS, JUIC, ANDRO, Borko, etc)!  If it has been sold here in the U.S, they've probably tried 80% of them in some fashion.

I have more than 10 and will be getting more as I coach and the more informed I am, I hope to aid the table tennis player.

Yes it's thicker and made of red cedar. Pure and plain wood, no distracting silly design.

What do you mean with fatter, is it thicker ?
You have a nice set of equipment to modify your blades, but I am not going to buy that as I don't have your skill

Aeoliah, My days of hoarding blades are over. I'm in another phase of EJ'ing now. Sort of like a drug addict who no longer buys drugs off the street but grows his own pot in the backyard, I'm more into modding blades than buying them nowadays.

Btw, Darker C-pen handles tend to be fatter than Bty C-pen's. Some likes this some doesn't.

I only have one Timo Boll Spark. I'm very happy with it. I will continue to use it until I have found the perfect rubbers then I might experiment with other blades.
Peace out.

just out of interest, how does the vsg1000 compare to the carbon blades or other wood blades? i find it awesome with less vibration but fantastic feeling... but i have to admit i did like the feel of sardius when i tried that, but hated primorac carbon. maybe it was the rubbers.

i only have a vsg1000, and a friend's kong linghui to muck around with as a chopping setup.
