112. Butterfly Allure Tamca 5000

Weight: 90 Gramms Sized: 17,2/16,2cm Thickness: 5mm
5-Ply (3 Wood/2 Tamca-Carbon)without Serial and old tag.
I think every collector has a Kind of series he loves most. Some fancy the good old Arylate or Arylate-Carbon blades but i have always been in love with the old Tamca5000 series. Here is one of the oldest member of this Family - The Allure, one of the best defensive blades for choppers that have been ever made. Regarding the huge head the Allure is still not too heavy-unlike other members of the Tamca Family- and very old. I cannot even tell exactly when it has been released but the Allure has been already on the market at the 38th Worlds in 1985 at Gothenburg.
The J.T.T.A.A. and the Ta-Ma-Su have been branded on the left side of the handle. This Allure is definitly a blade i would never consider to sell or trade.
Available Handle only ST

113. Butterfly Scorna Tamca 5000

Weight: 120 Gramms Sized: 16,7/15,6cm Thickness: 6,2mm
another 5-ply (3 Wood/2 Tamca-Carbon) without Serial and old tag.
The faster brother of the Allure and another old Family member of the Tamca 5000 Family. Although the head dimensions are much smaller than the ones of Allure the weight with 120 Gramms is very high, some workouts before the usage are recommanded. Scorna T5000 is the faster one of the two defensive models and belongs to the First Generation of the Tamca Family together with the Gergely, Klampar and Oberon Carbon.
The J.T.T.A.A. and the Ta-Ma-Su have been branded on the left side of the handle. Interesting are the drills on the backside of the handle which are similar to the ones of the old Pulser model.
The Slim FL handle has been the only available handle type.

114. Butterfly Kumpuru Tamca 5000

Weight: 85 Gramms Sized: 15,7/15,1cm Thickness: 6,1mm
5-ply-Wood (3 Wood/2 Carbon laminated Tamca 5000) without Serial and old tag. Rated OFF the Kumpuru is the slowest and softest member of the Tamca5000 Family but I would rate it in a range between All+ to OFF- regarding the Speed. The provided feel is medium, the Kumpuru is nearly Vibration-free. Suits well with pips out Rubbers and offers really much control, better suited for modern defenders that attack from time to time, not really good for choppers. The handle design is refering to the national flag of South Africa and the Player Kumpuru.
Not a very popular blade in Germany, only a few persons were using it here. Blade Composition should be :
Koto-Carbon Laminate-Ayous-Carbon Laminate-Koto
Available handle type ST and FL, there is also a C-Pen Version. Kumpuru was for sale at 80 USD.

115. Butterfly Sardius

Weight: 96 Gramms Sized: 16,0/15,2cm Thickness: 7,2mm
Weight: 93 Gramms Sized: 16,0/15,2cm Thickness: 7,3mm
Handle Dimension: 159x152mm
5-ply-wood (3 Wood / 2 Carbon Laminate) with and without Serial and old tag. Sardius, the "Butt-Kicker" was a Long time the best selling Tamca 5000 model. Sardius has been the fastest blade in the 1990ies among the Butterfly range but was also the one with the lowest control. However the Schlager Carbon that has been released later was even faster but providing more control. Sardius is a great Blade for pips-out-hitters and power attackers that are looking for a hard Feeling blade. It is still very popular and famous in Asia, with the flatened lense and old font a very sought true collectors item. Some female Asian Players still use it as their main blade.
Blade Composition is:
Hinoki-Carbon Laminate-Kiri-Carbon Laminate-Hinoki
Only available with FL Handle. Priced in the late 1990ies at 114 USD.

Thanks Cong. You are right, Quetzals are always tempting and not easy to get. An old Tamca5000 model i would always consider to catch...but i think i should better watch out for other missing models, it is not that urgent atm

116. Butterfly Gergely Tamca 5000

Weight: 95 Gramms Sized:16,0/15,2mm Thickness: 7,1mm

with black tag, flat lense and without Serial and print on blades head this Version of the Gergely is from the middle of the 1980ies and belongs to the oldest generation. Unlike Scorna or Allure there is no 727 J.T.T.A.A. print on the left side of the handle and the older hinoki top plies looks much different than the later Versions without flat lense.
The dimensions of the large head are 16,1/15,2cm. Released with the famous twin Oberon Tamca 5000 the Gergely was the faster model among both, a hard and stiff blade for hardhitters and blockers -Probably the model that has been sold best during the decades and is now a legendary classic. Since a few months it is out of production but most Shops still have some stocks with the silver tag.
Composition is Hinoki-Tamca 5000 Carbon-Kiri-Tamca 5000 Carbon -Hinoki
The Gergely T5000 is only available with the thick FL handle.

117. Butterfly Quetzal Tamca 5000

Weight: 92 Gramms Sized: 15,7/14,9cm Thickness: 5,7mm

5-ply (3 Wood/ 2 Tamca 5000 Carbon) with old tag, straight lense and without Serial. With compact head and rated OFF Quetzal belongs to the rarest Butterfly models although they were produced in the early 1990ies. I think the model name refers to the mythical Quetzal bird in Middle America which has Butterfly wings instead of usual bird wings plus the green colored flat lense also fits to the awesome Colors of the Quetzal bird. Only made with ST handle the handle tends to be slightly conical - maybe a hint that the Quetzal was released to be the substitude for the old discontinued Klampar Carbon T5000.

Blade Composition is
Hinoki-Tamca 5000 Carbon -Kiri- Tamca 5000 Carbon - Hinoki
total thickness of all plies is about Center and middle of a complete Gergely T5000. There are no available sources about its sales price.

118. Butterfly Ethel Tamca 5000

Weight: 77 Gramms Sized: 15,7/15,1cm

5-ply-wood (3 Wood/2 Tamca Carbon) with old tag, flat lense and without Serial. This model is one of the rarest among the Tamca 5000 Family. It is said that only 200 pieces of this model have been released and the model was designed for Otilia Badescu (ROM). Rated OFF Ethel was the lighest of all Tamca 5000er models.
While some sources say Ethel has been sold at only 50 USD other sources claimed the Price of Ethel had been 3 times higher than Cresail. However the blade was not available for a long time and some units had the old font blade print which makes sure that Ethel has been produced end of the late 1980ies and some additional time after the font shift end of 1991.
Blade composition is: Limba-Tamca Carbon-Kiri-Tamca Carbon-Limba
Up to now i have only seen Ethels with flared handle.

119. Butterfly Schlager Light Tamca5000

Weight: 83 Gramms Sized: 15,7/15,1cm
5-ply-wood (3 Wood/2 Carbon) with old tag and without serial.
Released in 2001 the Schlager Light has been the younger brother of the Schlager Carbon that had taken over the top spot as the fastet Butterfly Blade from the Tamca 5000 Sardius.
Reduced in weight and with a thinner top-ply (0,8mm instead of 1mm Hinoki) and the thinner Core with only 3,5mm of Kiri the Schlager Light was the more controlable version compared to its ancestor, the Schlager Carbon. Slightly providing vibrations Schlager Light is made for playing close to the table.
The handle design refers to the colours of the Austrian flagg.
Available with ST and FL Handle, not sure if AN was released as well..

120. Butterfly Chuan Chih Yuan Limited Edition

Weight: 87 Gramms Sized: 15,7/15,1cm

5-Ply-wood (3 Wood/2 Arylate-Carbon) with golden Butterfly Tag. The Blade has been released in 2013 together with the Chen Chien-Ahn LE to celebrate their World Championship Title in Doubles. Both Blades were only sold in Taiwan. Chuans´edition is limited to 350 Units Worldwide, it is said that the master himself kept 50 Units of the 350 Units in his personal storage - maybe a good Money Investment for the future

However Chen has left Butterfly in the meantime and joined Tibhar.
(Some sources claim he had to leave Butterfly)
Chuans`LE has the same Blade Composition than Viscaria. Since a few weeks Chuan uses the LE as main blade.

121. Butterfly Kenta Matsudaira Special

Weight 89 Gramms Sized: 15,7/15,1cm
The Kenta Special has been released in 2006 after Kenta won the Asian Youth Champion Title in 2005 and 2006. The Blade Composition of Kenta Special is the same than Timo Boll Spirit and this unit here has a nice fishscale Koto Ply. Little Sad is that Butterfly did not manufacture the blade with a nice lense

122. Butterfly Kazan FL

Weight: 88 Gramms Sized: 15,7/15,0cm Thickness: 8,2mm
With new font on head and old tag, without flat lense.
In 1999 Kazan has been the fastest allwood blade among the Butterfly Blade Range while it has also been the second lightest Offensive Model at the same time.
Kazan is much faster than any Mazunov or Madash and providing a hard feeling, even on par with the Arylate Moonbeam and just slightly slower than the Gergely Tamca5000.
Due to the Balsa Center Ply, the secondary Walnut plies and the Cypress Outers the way has been paved for Point ending mass destruction drives. The belted handle is similar to the handle design of the Cresail.
Together with Cresail and Hermoso Kazan is one of the often sought newer classic "King blades".
Kazan has been sold at 44 USD and was available with ST and FL handle.
