Tabletennis11 Equipment Testing Scheme for mytabletennis.net members!

Recently, many manufacturers have launched well-reviewed new blades and rubbers.

However, we rarely can find a club player / friend with that set-up at hand for us to try out first. At my local clubs, I see most players choosing from a small standard set of blades (TB-ALC / Viscaria, IF-ZLC, TB-ZLF / IF-ZLF, Clipper and it’s variants) or rubbers (generally a Tenergy or a Hurricane). I always wished there was a way for us to test the new, good stuff.

Enter tabletennis11.com BeerClap(a shop that, in my personal opinion, has been the best overall online table tennis shop over the past year in terms of product availability, customer service / communication and pricing).

Tabletennis11 would like to try out a new equipment testing scheme for myTT members in which they provide a few select blades and rubbers to us for testing.

My guess is that the success (in terms of how many products we actually get to try) of this scheme depends on how well we behave (no ‘Delgado’ – type situations please).

The general rules are as follows:

If you’re interested in testing out a certain blade & have a good, long-standing reputation at mytabletennis.net, please PM me with your name and state/country to add you to the list.

You co-ordinate with the tester before you on the list to receive the blade.

You test the blade using your rubbers and easy-to-remove water based glue. You write your review in the appropriate thread (I'll start one for each blade and put the links in here).

You then ship it quickly (after removing the WBG) to the next tester on the list at your cost (tracking number must be provided and insurance might be required depending on the blade).

Please be careful with the blade and treat it well. We especially don’t want the blade to be lost.

To begin with, I have the Nittaku Rutis Power blade available for review for mytabletennis.net members residing in the US / Canada.

If you have a good standing in the mytabletennis.net community and would like to review this blade, please send me a PM to put you on the review list.

Later next week, I hope to have some info on a few more goodies that shall become available:

Thanks to tabletennis11.com for making this possible! Smile

OK, I am done testing all these blades (initially with T05 / T05FX and then later with the rubbers they provided).

I was just about to write up a comprehensive comparative review between the blades and the rubbers, when the postman brought this to my door:

This is a new highly regarded $250 7-ply all-wood blade, perhaps manufactured for Nittaku by Soulspin?

When tabletennis11.com mentioned that they would like to send to mytabletennis.net members quality blades for testing, they weren't kidding! Thumbs Up

Specs of the blade they sent:
Weight: 89g
Thickness: 6.58mm (according to my calipers)
Dimensions: 157x150

I just glued on a Tenergy 05 2.1 and Xiom Omega V Tour 2.0 on this blade - shall compare tonight and post all reviews tomorrow.

Who's up for testing this? Please let me know by PM.

Meanwhile, here is the current short list for testing for all the blades - I'll keep it updated here. Please PM me if you want to be added to the list.

Come on fatt - if you're a MJ fan, you've got to try the Acoustic Carbon! Smile

Nittaku Rutis Power:
  1. regiz.rugenz
  2. blade
  3. AndySmith
  4. mg
  5. arxidiavol
Nittaku Acoustic Carbon:
  1. assiduous
  2. liulin04
  3. gatz
  4. AndySmith
  5. mg

Nittaku Ludeack Fleet:
  1. kurokami
  2. assiduous
  3. regiz.rugenz
  4. slevin
  5. mg
  6. arxidiavol
  7. AndySmith
Nittaku Meister Holz Sieben:
  1. kurokami
  2. assiduous
  3. liulin04
  4. mg
  5. AndySmith

Members with their names in bold above: please PM me your name and address. I plan on mailing the blades & rubbers on Monday.

The Rutis Power and the Holz Sieben shall be mailed 'blade only'.

The Acoustic Carbon shall be mailed with new Bluefire JP-01 and Andro Rasant Grip Tibhar 5Q VIP rubbers on them.

The Ludeack Fleet shall be mailed with new Evolution MX-P and 5Q-VIP Andro Rasant Grip rubbers on them.

All the rubbers above are in max thickness. So, with each of the two blades, the tester gets 1 medium-hard rubber and 1 medium-soft rubber to test.

Aaaah, what a pitty, that these blades are only for US-testers.
Do you know, if tabletennis11.com is willing to spend such testing-blades also for european members? I would like to test this wonderful Meister Holz 7.

As per AndySmith's suggestion, our plan now is to send the blades to Europe for testing rounds once we're done in the US. So, yes, I can add your name to the list if you want.

Jolan is running a similar tabletennis11 testing program in France. I got the Rutis Power and Meister from him for TT11.

Yes, that would be fine, but there is still one question: when could that be? I am not interested to test the blade next year.

By the way: I sold several blades into the USA. With priority (air mail) the sending-time is not longer than 1-2 weeks normally. It is always a question of the shipping-method. Sometimes it happened, that the blade arrived within 3 or 4 days in the USA (from Germany), but it needs more than a week within the USA, until the package reached the receiver.

My testing is done - results up in a day or so:

Rutis Power shipped to regis.rugenz (as per AndySmith's suggestion, we'll have this circulate in the US first)
Acoustic Carbon + JP01 + Rasant Grip shipped to assiduous
Ludeack Fleet + MX-P + 5Q VIP shipped to kurokami
Meister Holz Sieben shipped to kurokami

Magic_M: I estimate that there'll be about 3 - 4 US testers before you.

LOL :) I have owned all those blades - Rutis Power, Ludeack Fleet and Acoustic Carbon - two of which I have given away to friends.

All excellent blades!

I won't say much more as I don't want to affect the reviews :) Definitely am looking forward to everyone's reviews.

Hey slevin! ;-)

I'd love to test the Ludeack Fleet! If mg is going to send the Acoustic Carbon to me after he's finished, could you pop me on that list after him too?
This was a great signature until I realised it was overrated.

oh my gosh, are there no more US testers for the Acoustic Carbon and Meister?  The shipping charges will be very high unless the other tester is willing to split it.

list (3rd post in thread) is updated again. A few blades are now primed to go on a European tour barring any late interest in the US in testing them!
