Ok, just a heads up. Nittaku are releasing a carbon version of Latika called Latika Carbon (mid-late November).

They are also releasing a new rubber called ALHELG. Naming fail. This rubber is designed for the new plastic ball and is scheduled for release in tandem with the new premium plastic ball (10th October).

Alhelg is now available on TT-Japan.net. It is made in Japan not made by ESN. Pimple base is very wide at 1.9 mm according to Nittaku website.

http://www.nittaku.com/products/detail/detail.php?id=528

Very interesting rubber to try, if it is not too heavy because of its large pimple size.

Sorry, who told you it is available now on TT Japan?

According to TT Japan, the "product will be in stock on Friday 10 October, 2014".

i'm interested as well. nittaku rates it with the highest speed and higher spin than all its other rubbers besides hurricane types

I already tried it but only 15 minutes in max thickness. Though I'm not a TT specialist, I will try to make some comments.
My first impression is
-It comes with a very nice package (maybe the best) and a sticky plastic cover.
-Rubber is totally difference from ESN, Butterfly and Chinese rubbers. (My friend said it looks like a Calibra rubber but I haven't try it yet.)
-It has completely non-tacky topsheet with medium soft sponge but I feel it's not a light weight rubber.
-It's not bouncy at all, I can do short serve or short push with ease. Short game control is very good.
-In high gear, it's powerful and very fast. Its gear is great.
-It grabs the ball well especially with the new plastic ball. Spin is not the best. Throw angle is not high.

I will test it more in the upcoming week.

Note: Nittaku has re-calculated their product rating according to the new ball, so we can't count on it too much.

that is good it is not bouncy in short game so i'm assuming it's more linear.

fastarc G-1 was very much h3n/tenergy hybrid and you could easily substitute it for boosted h3n prov

i liked calibra at first bc of the hurricane-like feel but later decided the spin:speed sucked. it's better suited for bh. also, i have a poor opinion of stiga rubber durability.

i just read alhelg is like G-1 but slightly softer = sounds perfect. the softer C-1 would've been my next choice except someone said it uses the same white sponge as S-1, which is more like bryce. the orange sponge on the G-1 is like h3n's.

Any update review on this rubber? it is now on special offer in TT11 .. I'm thinking of pairing it with my Rasant Grip on a Rosewood blade but the rubber weight seems to draw me back. What interests me though is it's idea of timing it early, or hitting the ball early at the rise.. as i seem to have been converted into hitting the ball too soon very often on fast rallies and returning fast serves.

An enlightenment on this would be much appreciated BB-big.. Wink

Thanks!

mine is in customs. will post review once i try it out. i liked everything about G-1 except the initial hardness. topsheet is very grippy and spinny like h3 but it's ESN tensor type which i don't like bc if you don't grip, it will slip.
