I want to buy a table to teach my son. Currently I am looking at Kettler Competition 3.0 (19mm) from Costco and the Joola Truimph 18/Tour 18 (18mm) from a local dealer. Any thoughts on this? I could not find too much on both these tables.

The table will be used in the Garage and folded when not playing. Both these tables have a price of around $550. Should I instead look at 25mm tables (Joola Triumph 25/Tour 25)? That would be an extra $100-150.

Appreciate your help.

Here's my opinion,

The Kettler table will not give you a bounce like tables used in table tennis clubs.
I have never played on the Joola Triumph 18/Tour 18. But being an 18mm table they will not have same bounce either.

If you want to play somewhat serious, then yes, I would definitely consider 25mm tables such as Joola Triumph 25/Tour 25.

Thanks for the replies.

Budget is Max $900-1000.
The local place carries Killerspin, Joola and Cornilleau. They have the Cornilleau 500M indoor table tennis table for $899 and Killerspin MyT7 for $850.
Costco has the Killerspin MyT10 for $999

Thanks

We had Killerspin tables at my last club and I found the build quality to be poor compared to other brands. They all bend kind of like a V shape.
