I believe he's brushing behind the ball, producing top-side spin, but his followup motion (after contacting the ball) goes under the ball, giving the impression of backspin. When the woman tried to push the ball, it popped up due to her misread the spin as backspin.

Each ordinary clubber, be it the young or the seasoned soldier, come on, and try this to get the whole house yelling UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUhohohohohoho..
It is no trickery, just sweep off the ball forcefully.
