Lessons are probably a better investment if we are talking about game improvement :) .

As others pointed out - 'spend' would be a better description here. And - since we have no information about you or your game - coin toss is a perfectly good solution.

I got the game improvement part covered.  I just need a new paddle to build and use.  I am looking for a blade/rubber combo that has lots of control and still be able to play mid distance.

I used DHS Hurricane 3 Provincial (40/2.2mm) on FH, BTY T80 on BH.

Acoustic might be too slow with the new ball and from mid distance !

depends on your development as a player and your skill set.  If you are a beginner use Mark V on BH and Mark V HPS FH for example, later as your skill level increases move up to faster set up.  Many options for rubbers as your skills develops to max your blade's performance which is one of the nice attributes of the 7 ply wood and this blade is only 6.5MM thick so it does have some flex but stout enough for decent blocking and smashing plus it has  power  for mid distance play. One of the reviews for this blade on TTDB:

"Great blade; built impeccably, spin incisive, control like defense blade, fast enough.
All + and Off - , but with fast rubbers it become an offensive blade"
