It is a thing of beauty Thumbs Up

How is if different from regular ones that you buy from Btfly?  Is the wood different?  The weight?

I once had a custom made one with a different handle.
I ordered Viscaria custom made from Japan. Custom: weight: 87gram, handle FL, good wood- fish scale

Is it really worth paying extra for a fish scale wood design viscaria??? Does it play better than the simple one?

Anybody knows about this?

Here is a link:

BTW is viscaria faster than TBS if two blades have same weight?

timoboll86 is almost certainly a bot (or someone acting just like one)  Every single post it just made is meaningless, or nearly so, a few words, and was made within a 30 sec period.  How do you post on about eight different threads within 30 secs?

History now.

The poster above him is the more serious spammer (Leon Truon, linking to those very dodgy websites). I think timoboll86 must have something to do with him.

If you look at those for sale websites (ending in 11), they are almost certainly fake and need to be reported.

Simon, you are right, and he (or it) has repeatedly broken the rule about coming into other people's for sale threads to try to sell his own stuff.  All within about a two minute period.

Zapp.

There can't be many of those floating around.  In fact, I had two made just like it, back when Btfly would still make custom blades to order.  It turns out, I didn't like them and sold them for just under what they cost me to have them made (~$250 each).  The guy who bought them turned around and put them on Ebay for 600 pounds sterling, each.

At first I thought this might be one of those blades but the ones I had were serial number series P and the on that kakapo links to are N.

Here is a picture of my old custom ST blades.  I am pretty sure I would have liked the ones you guys made with Stiga and Banda handles better!  The ST handles on my custom blades were very uncomfortable and very disappointing, and (it turns out) nothing like the ST handles on the original Viscara ST (something that really angered me).

Hi Baal,

do you still know the exact handle thickness and wideness of your 2 special ST Viscaria blades ?

The wideness of old Viscaria ST handle is the biggest I have seen. It is too wide for normal big hands, also too wide for Timo Boll's hand. That's why butterfly came out with a new blade called Spirit ST. In the catalogue of the year around 2000 when this blade came out- there is short a lyric about the handle optimization.  But butterfly will never tell the real dimensions. Spirit ST and ALC ST handle is somehow for smaller hands optimal- it seems to me that it was not build for normal average sized hands.
