Butterfly blade series number made year

I could not find much information about the connection of series number and made year for butterfly blade. 

We all see that the current series number starts with O, P, and last year it is N. Could anyone give more detailed and systemic information on this?

I think it started with G in 2005/2006. I have heard some japanese blades had serial numbers before then. I just got a few RSM blades from Japan that start with P

That's right, as far as i know they started with the letter G in 2006, each year has a letter, for example, my blade's serial number starts with N, so it should've been made in 2013.

Some players and collectors treasure BTY blades of certain years (series number). It will be helpful if someone with knowledge can share here.

Not 100% sure, but nevertheless these informations should be almost right. Wink

before 1987 = no tag, no serial
1987 - 1996 = no serial, flattened lense, black tag
1997 - 2005 = no serial, normal lens, black tag
2006 - 2008 = G - I, black tag
2009 - 2014 = J - O, silver tag
2015 = P, silver tag (new logo)

I think from 2005 or 2006 Butterfly released silver tag without serial and begen with serial H was produced silver tag. With serial H and I Butterfly was produced in paralel black tag and silver tag.
