Used to be in touch with the maker but I seemed to have lost record of it.
Does anyone know anything about 'Ratt Factory blades'?  has anyone used one? or  Does anyone know how to order one?

Thanks.

These two blades look pretty impressive.  I'm intrigued by the end cap on the handle of the DEF oversized.  Any idea why he did it?

First, I really like the look of end caps. Long before I started making blades, I made guns, and this is sort of a carryover from that. They also have another use on my blades. When I make a hollow grip, it's easier to put an end cap on the handle then to do a hidden tunnel. I don't have a CNC router, so I do my work mostly with a router mounted in a table. To make a grip hollow, I have a 3/4 inch half round bit that I feed the grip plate into and have a stop on the table to limit how deep I make the cut. I some time use a stop to start the cut and lower the grip half on to the spinning bit, but it's real easy to have that grab and destroy a very expensive piece of wood. It also puts my beat up old fingers at risk!

Of course on custom blades, the customer can order the grip any way he wants it so if he dosent like the grip cap, it won't have one

A bit of a correction on those blades,  That is spalted maple for the grip with a mahogany grip cap.

This is the  Mesquite grip blade

This one is spalted maple/palm wood with a Walnut grip cap

This is a test blade with a scrap wood grip.  In this case, Walnut, redheart, maple, and a walnut grip cap.  If the wood is not wide enought to cover the whold grip, I consider it scrap wood.  I have a lot of scrap wood which are cut offs from nice wood and can normaly make something that looks OK for test blades  This one was glued with hot hide glue
