    Posted: 09/26/2016 at 5:43pm
I am familiar with the Defplay Senso (5ply, flexible modern defense blade) but not so much with the DONIC Defplay CLASSIC Senso.
I am aware that the CLASSIC has 2 layers of balsa in the core, ayous and koto as top layers (6 plies total) and is around 70g (vs 85 for the Senso).

Now I found those online.

Both are the CLASSIC but the colors are different.
What are the differences?

Thanks.

I don't think there are any material differences in these two versions of the Defplay Classic Senso...other than the color of the outer ply.

Thanks ndotson!
I think you are right.... it's probably just a change of color but then I find these:

First photo shows a blade Classic but plies don't match (obviously 5 plies but blue top layer)!?

Second photo, the Classic is the left obviously with regular Senso on the right.

Donic needs to review its marketing.
They should have never used names so similar for different blades!
It's very confusing.

yeah...that's confusing. It's likely the differences between the Versions 1,2, and 3. (notice the V3 and the V1 stickers on the photos).

They are both V3 stickers:

Good catch. I must need glasses :-)

And I'm not sure if previous versions had different ply compositions. It's just a guess.

Really confusing indeed.
Awful poor marketing choices by Donic.

So apparently, it's just a change of top layers dye.
Characteristics of each model should not be affected by the color (that's what I was told).
