Wow, I just noticed that the ball they use in the last matches is half white, half orange, thus easier to read the spin. As a consequence I clearly see that players are making a lot less stupid mistakes. Are they having different regulations, cause a ball like this, or changing balls during match are unthinkable around here?

i am curious how second and third single players get selected for these semi-final and final matches - both men and women.   Doesn't seem to be based on their overall records.

I notice that they're using the two-colored balls.  Is that permanent now for the super league? Or just playoffs?

Is there anyway to get some of those balls? I'd like to try them out.

...just watched the Wang Chuqin vs FZD match. Unbelievable... These Chinese players younger than FZD play so well... basically, this is end of story for the rest of the world, for the years to come.

Japan's young players get more chance to play on the world stage than that of China's.
They will gain more experience, I wouldn't write off Japanese young players.
=====
There were situations that Japan sent a plane-load of players, and there were situations Japan had more players than that of the host country.

The third game between FZD and LJK is the best game that FZD has ever played. Down 4:9, FZD gained 7 points in a row with variation of plays. This is the exact way that ML beat FZD before.

Sorry, Skip, but which one of the 16 yo/young Japanese is capable of seriously challenging/beating FZD in an important match?

Japan's young players have more chance to play on the world stage than their counter part in China. It doesn't mean Japan will soon have a player who will dominate - but they have a chance.
(LGL said that Japan posed a threat, after 2016 WJTTC in South Africa.)

About the 16 yo (Wang Chuqin):

No one knows the future, so makes no sense to argue about this. The fact remains - Japanese young players got more chance to play. (Btw if Japan doesn't give its young players more chance to play on the world stage, it is even less likely that Japan can produce a player who can dominate TT world - male or female.)

Funny, i thought the exact opposite. I thought that ZJK, ML, XX is the golden trio and China got a little lucky to have them all at the same time.

FZD does not move well. To me he is lower quality player than any of those 3. Don't even think about showing me their stats, skip, i don't care about their current stats, I am saying how it looks to me. If somebody here is an artist maybe he will agree with me, but when i watch FZD every other point i see awkwardness in the body position and shot execution. He still lands them, and with crazy power, but I like aesthetics, and to me watching the other 3 is just a perfect synchrony, everything looks right. I have the same admiration to Ma Lin and Wang Hao, every shot is just a beauty.

Tell me which of the youngsters now look as good as ZJK and ML their age? Watch ML and ZJK when they were 16 - already perfect gems. No, these youngsters practice like maniacs and possess crazy speed and are used to fast rallies but their game doesn't look as good and already they have all posted repeated losses. Also, my gut feeling tells me that just because Chinese domination is so universally accepted, it wont last long. Humans just suck at forecasting, they are horrible. But I think the best years of CNT are behind them. They may still win, but things will shake up pretty soon. Other that FZD all other kids are totally beatable. Slower game vs euros can actually disrupt their timing, and then the weird serves and some pressure and it will be enough to trip them.

Have people noticed that FZD has matured a lot? He has made that transformation that the very best make.

He plays very steady now, less spectacular than in years past. He is rock-solid reliable. He doesn't give away any points. Serve and return of serve are so dialed in.

To beat him, someone has to attack like crazy, make nearly everything and be lucky too. Ain't gonna happen too often ...

Yup, I agree. In fact, LJK is like the old FZD, lots of power and high risk shots, on back hand also, but not reliable enough in high tension game.
