Couldn't find a suitable thread just on this rubber, (though the wife would say I only had a 'man-look') so started my own.

Fred got this rubber at the beginning of September, I made up 2 bats with his Emerald blades and he started using one. He played with the first one for about 5 or 6 weeks training 12-15 hours per week but then had Junior British League, so he switched to his second one. The first still looked brand new, but normally rubbers have passed their best by this stage so he switched anyway.

He has used the second one since the middle of October still training the same amount and giving the ball plenty of hammer and I have kept my eye on his rubbers to see how long they would last. We are probably around 11/12 weeks now with his second bat and still it plays like a brand new rubber and there is not a mark on the surface. For someone who is used to changing rubbers every 5-6 weeks, this type of longevity is unheard of. (I should also add that he religiously sticks on his Stiga Rubber foils on after play)

Has anyone else used this rubber for a prolonged period?

I don't know how long it lasts. I've been using a Genesis M in black for 2 months so far and it still plays great.

Well it is a dhs rubber so durability is good.

Is there a comparison of the genesis against other spinny euro rubbers such as mx-s or bty spinart?

JKC,

I have switched to Genesis recently, but I have observed this with my partners' (and other coaches) bats.

It's one of the reasons I'm switching to be fair. Durability seems ahead of other rubbers.
This rubber looks like the sweet spot between Chinese and Euro-jap...

Is there a chinese rubber that is closest to the characteristics of Genesis M ? TinArc perhaps? I tried it on one of my coach's blades and the spin was huge

Try DHS Hurricane 3-50 Mid probably? The topsheet of Tinarc 1/3 more or less resembles a Jap/ESN topsheet instead of a tacky Chinese one.

It is an amazing rubber. Spinny but not slow.

S is a little bit slow. M is just a really good rubber.
Current Setup: TBS FH T80/BH D80
Official USATT Rating 1815
Current estimated level: 1800-1900.

I have a sheet of Hurricane 3-50 and it is very tacky which I don't believe Genesis M is tacky like that, my coach's sheet didn't feel that way, although the stiga is red and the dhs is black

Great rubber but is very susceptible to opponent's spin. I used it 10 minutes though.
On the other side of the blade was an Acuda Blue P1 , having the same speed , slightly less spin and much better control (easy to play).

I don't find it difficult to handle incoming spin with Genesis at all. You have to make active strokes and cannot play passive.  I also didn't like P1 at all. The trajectory was rather flat and it felt muted.

Have you played with polyball or celluloid ?
