I question Mlin's age.  he looked 33 when he was 23.

Shang kun is playing too.  He beat Ma Long and I believe FZD recently.  One of these B team China players will win...

Marriage will certainly have a big impact on performance, as witnessed firsthand by WH, Ovtcharov, Mizutani, and XX. As FB said in his live cast, the body stamina can't keep up with the demands.

ML is gonna be in the role of MLin in 2010, a roadblock of sort.
With only 2 spots in the oly, don't believe LGL will send a "road blocker" to oly. Actually, is tt still relevant when the tokyo oly comes?

Does anyone know the latest CNT-A and CNT-B team members for men and women?

(The info I have was for 6-27-2014.  That's 2 1/2 years ago, that's very old.)

I think Shang Kun is in the CNT-A team, just not one of the top four players. I think there are likely about 10~20 CNT-A team players.

If "zeio" can not find it, it means CNT (LGL, CLH, etc) doesn't want to publish it.

For the time being, use the one from Wikipedia for reference. A dude(?) by the handle "Jacehu2012" maintains it.

China, more chance for other players, rather than top 4 players all the time.

zeio had a post earlier, JPN is not in this one:
Very rare for Japan to not enter, due to the overlapping schedule with the All-Japan Championships.

Does anyone know where to find the "Qualification Groups"?
===============

At the bottom, click "Current list of entries" you get to the old site:
www.old.ittf.com
They got the NEW site, but still depends on the OLD site.

Is the Wu Jiaji playing for DOM the same Wu Jiaji formerly of the CNT (penholder)?  It seems like it from the ITTF records, but that's really surprising to me!

It sucks very badly......how do LJK and Yan An run into each other in the Qualification? That might as well be the final.

Sucks real bad.
Can not see Qualification Groups / Preliminary Rounds information.
Don't think ITTF's new interface is an improvement.
------------------------
For old interface, I can search itTV for all the matches played by CHN players that were recorded. Then watch them, one after another.
I can not do that with this new interface.

Not sure what you're after exactly, but if you want to see the draw then use the link above drop the combo box down and choose "Men's Singles  (Pre. Rounds)".

For the videos, you can pick the event and the category (so Hungarian Open, Men's Singles) using the filter combo boxes, but there isn't a free-text search that I can find, and that's a shame IMO.

Do we have the Main Draw information, as to who will run into whom before they even play?

*** The old interface has all that kind of information. ***

Sure.  Click the link, select "Men's Singles", and then you can see the draw (R32 is filled in now that prelim is over), and then you can scroll the draw up and down the rounds with the arrow buttons.

It's a bit strange how they organise the prelim though.  They structure it like a separate event, but stop it at the R32 stage (but leave "phantom" R16 matches listed, like Pitchford v Konecny).  Then the prelim winners get added to the main event.  Bit odd if you ask me, but there you go.

Thanks.
Now they have reserved space for scores (not much use) separating two players far apart.  Hard to tell who are seeds:

Positions of seeds:
1
4, 5
8, 9
12, 13
16, 17
20, 21
24, 25
28, 29
32

It looks like they have used categories inconsistently in the past.  Although selecting "Hungarian Open" and "Men" gives no results, leaving the Event drop-down at default and selecting "Men" as the Category brings results back, at Slovenia for example.  So they've used "Men" at some Events previously, but not every time.

Ideally, they should update the Category list after you select the Event (using ajax, avoiding a page refresh), so Categories with no results can be filtered out.  Instead they have to include all Categories from every Event on the off chance that they are in fact valid.  I've seen this so many times over the years in systems design, and it's either lazy or not thought through properly, although it's a minor problem in the grand scheme of things.

In one word, the old site have better, clearer origination considering the event information. What is the point to have this new, complicated design if it is no better than the old one?

Agreed.  These two are top 10 in the world caliber players, and one has to be eliminated by the other in Quals.

I think it is actually in the round of 32, not the qualification round that they meet.
