Second: here's what you do. You buy one more Resoud. Then, trade both the Resoud blades for one black tag Viscaria that andrei2412's selling for GBP 3,500 here.

Kidding aside, let us know if you figure out what the blade composition is (beside the outer spruce layer).

Yes but Holz Seiben spruce wood has bigger gap between the line. It's made in Japan, so it's not made by Soulspin.

Hahaha I wouldn't pay 3500 GBP for Viscaria old Tag, for me Viscaria Custom is already very good.

The blade composition is like Violin/Acoustic, only the top ply is Spruce. Resoud thickness is aroud 6mm, thicker than Violin/Acoustic.

Cant wait to hear a review...

How is the handle shape compared to other Nittaku stringed instrument series blades? The spruce reminds me heavily of hinoki, does it feel any different bouncing the ball on it? how big's the sweet spot compared to Acoustic?

So many questions Big smile

I wouldn't play with it, to be honest...

Like un-corking an expensive vintage wine...

The specifications and imagining what it taste like is why it holds it's value...

The glue itself is made of a secret extract of the foreskins of sacred circumcised Tibetan yaks (the national version, not the provincial or commercial versions in which the yaks are not sacred).

From bouce test review LOL, it's about the as fast as my Acoustic 93 gr. My Violin 1st Generation 85 gr is slower.

The handle shape is like Nittaku Tenor ST handle. Yes It looks like Hinoki, it has nice Acoustic/Violin Feel, but due to softer top ply, it has kind of hinoki feel. To make the speed as fast as Acoustic, the center ply is thicker.

Sweet spot is about the same, All wood blade is not as big as composite blade.

Comparison with 1st Generation of Violin and new generation of Acoustic

Resoud is thicker than Acoustic and Violin

Have you calculated whether it is more expensive than gold by $/gram?

I think it probably is.

It's close! Current price for pure (24 karat) gold is $38.37/g so assuming 85g grams of weight that would be $3261.45. Gold is slightly more expensive.

I thought maybe it's the angle but the acoustic has the outer ply thicker at the bottom on that same picture? no big deal I guess.

It's not a crack, but it's a grain of the Wenge. The hole is big and Long LOL
Yes thickness is not the same only at the handle, but at the head size it's the same. The Acoustic also like that, forehand side is thinner than backhand side.

First, congrats on your Resoud!

I was wondering about the blade composition. How can the composition be "like Violin/Acoustic" if Violin and Acoustic have very different copositions?
Violin is  White Ash - White Ash - Kiri - White Ash - White Ash
Acoustic is Limba - Limba - Tung - Limba - Limba

I know it's difficult to judge composition of inner plies, but since you own many Violin/Acoustic blades, could you make an attempt to guessing the inner plies of Resoud?
Thanks.

The best way to compare the composition of these 3 beauties is to take some detailed pictures from the bottom of the handles. Here you can see the pictures of Acoustic, Tenor and Violin. Unfortunately I can`t add the Resolut pictures. Wink

I'm not sure what kind of wood used for inner plies of Resoud.
