Can you compare Rozena and R42? Weight, hardness, speed, throw angle, bottoming out on blocks. Thanks |

Initial impressions:
This is not a bad rubber. I like it on my BH. Power is comparable to T05 when hitting into the sponge. Less than 64, etc. Spin is decent, but much less than 05. Its easy to play with if you're conditioned to the feel of Tenergy, whereas other rubbers feel strange to me when I try to switch. I will need more time with it, but I like it so far. Sort of a vanilla rubber, but good quality, and definitely fills a niche Butterfly has been missing since the speed glue ban and introduction of Tenergy. |

Hey friends, I tried gluing another new sheet of Rozena onto a new blade. I applied 3 layers of Haifu WBG (WSB) on the rubber and one on the blade and it's already peeling at the edges. This also happened when I glued my first sheet on. Has anyone else had this problem? Am I just not using enough glue?

No, not really 1 layer of Nittaku Finezip on the blade, and one on the rubber. No problems here.

Is your blade sealed? If so that can cause issues such as you are describing with certain rubbers. You might try putting a book or something like that on the paddle after you glue and let it sit overnight. See if that makes a difference. If it is sealed, you might also try some fine sandpaper, and lightly sand around the edges where it is breaking loose, this may allow the glue to get a better grip.

There might be a really light gloss on them from factory but I haven't sealed them. They are Viscaria and Carbonado. I'll take your advice thanks :) |

purchase a red/bk 2.1 and mounted them on my inner zlc. First impression was how light the blade was compared to the Karis M/t05 I took off. 11 grams. Going to the club tonight to give it a go.
After playing for a couple hours at the club some early impressions: 1. Very Tenergy feeling 2. Soft 3. more like T-80 then T05 4. Enough speed and spin for an intermediate player like myself 5. easy to pickup B.S. forehand or backhand, flicks very easy 6. significant lighter then T-05 or Karis M overall a quality rubber at a decent price point. I payed $40.00 Edited by lineup32 - 07/31/2018 at 2:58pm |

Im fully satisfied with Rozena on my BH. Someone mentioned it was quite similar to EL-P from Thibar. I'm using it on my FH and I can easily twiddle from one to another easily. IMO, EL-P might be a bit bouncier&faster and Rozena a bit spinnier with higher arc. Both are great rubber up to advanced players up to 2500 US rating.
So if you can get them At 190¥ it's a great price. |

Rozena was not good to me at all. Had to work way too hard for the ball and it slips way too easily lol. I'm only at 1400-1500 range rating wise but it just didn't pass for my usage. Backhands were too slow and I'm using a thick hinoki zlc blade... I switched to gewo nexxus el pro 48 and 43 max thickness. First impressions blew my mind. Will be writing a review tonight for the thread. I have 2 sheets of rozena I could let go for $45 shipped usa if anyone is interested in them

I meant as a FH rubber. As a BH rubber it's perfectly fine. Maybe it lacks a bit of spin for pro-play. |

I am becoming convinced that Igor is in fact an AI involved in a long term Turing test. There seem to be a number of these on various specialised interest forums. It explains the tangential relevance to the threads it posts in.

"Rozena", the name sounds like the girl at the dance who was a wall flower. Nobody wanted to dance with her until one boy took a chance and found it was the girl of his dreams.
What I love about this rubber is it sure as heck can't dance but it is mysterious on several levels. This is one smooth operator in rubber land. Transitioning from stroke to stroke is smooth as silk with zero surprises. It does everything well and will be the perfect rubber for everyone except equipment snobs or pro's. I play it on a BTY Korbel which in itself is a "smooth operator" as far as blades go so overall a really nice combo. The lack of tackiness to the topsheet would suggest a less spinney topsheet but this rubber has great ball grip to produce excellent spin. Several dealers are discounting the price so now is the time to try a sheet. One poster mentioned they have to work to hard to get results with this rubber. Are you kidding? You must be a 98 pound weakling with a tee shirt that reads "Wimps R Us". I really love this rubber and so will millions around the world. Great job Butterfly. "Better" is a relative term right? Trying to compare apples to oranges isn't going to work as one is a tensor type rubber and one is a classic non tensor rubber. Both have their merits and both have limitations. |

No doubt the quality of Rozena is really good, after 1 hour of testing I can't see any damages on the topsheet that I usually see on my new Tenergy 05. Probably durability on this rubber is one idea better, but I am not at 100% sure, because I have not so long experience. I bought just one red rubber for test for my backhand and to be honest I expected this rubber to be more slow. Just the opposite. It is not so slow, but has probably same catapult effect as Tenergy 80 I think, which is not acceptable in my game. So, I am selling it and looking for more softer and slower rubber. Any recommendations? Maybe Andro Rasanter 42, can someone compare these two for me? I will be thankful.

R42 doesn't feel anything like Rozena. I upgraded to T80 because I felt Rozena too slow on my blade (Zetro Quad). I put Rozena on Photino Light and it was pretty fast, so it depends on your blade. T80 is for sure faster than Rozena on Zetro Quad. Much more power.
Also, as far as durability. I guess Tenergy is one of the most durable rubbers out there. I've been playing the same sheet of T80 for over 6 months. At the 6 month mark, I put some booster on it to keep it going. Most ESN rubbers are good for a maximum of 1 to 2 months in my opinion. I just started experimenting with the booster. I haven't had a chance to see how much I can extend the life of ESN sheets. Edited by ericd937 - 11/30/2018 at 8:31am |

Rozena has a medium density sponge but seems to play more like it had a soft sponge. Either a player likes it or not but zero complaints here as it works with me to play my best at my level. My new number 1 FH rubber.

My experience with Rozena is short, but I saw how it works on my Clipper CR 96 grams. With Rozena it is more faster than Tenergy 05 on Korbel SK7 90 grams, which is also 7 ply blade and even slightly more thicker. In the same time I feel more control with 05 on the Clipper than with Rozena. Very very strangely. The advantage of Rozena according the Tenergy 05 is probaby the weight, but 2-3 grams are not so high advantage in the end. Honestly said, I am wondering what is the purpose of that rubber. It has not some extraordinary skills, even the quality of spin and control is definitely not so good, compared to Tenergy 05. I can't imagine professional player to go on the table with Rozena. It could be some unique case. The rubber has some very specific feeling that probably could help someone who is playing single shots on maximum power, but once again I can ask that player why he will use Rozena, exactly.

I tried Rozena on several different blades and its characteristics changed quite a bit depending on the blade. On Zetro Quad, it felt a little too slow for my liking, but it was very spinny. On Photino Light, Rozena was very fast. On Timo Boll Spirit, I hated it. There wasn't any feeling. There maybe some blade out there that feels great with Rozena. It was playable on Zetro Quad, but I'd rather play with T80. In my opinion, T80 is much closer to the characteristics of Rozenza than T05. I tried boosting Rozena with Reviver Phoenix. The booster did work, it got a really big dome. However, I didn't really care for the way it felt and played. I'm not sure how to describe it, but it just didn't feel good. |

Zhu Yuling apparently has been using Rozena as soon as it was available.
I use it on my custom koto/limba/alc/kiri blade, and find it more controllable, somewhat slower (but not slow at all), and less spinny than Tenergy 05. Rozena is a better fit for a more direct playing style, Tenergy 05 wants more spin-orientation.
