I must have missed a dozen 3rd ball kills tonight a couple guys popped balls up on my serve and I missed a lot into the net and the odd one went long,I did kill a few but what should have been an easy game was a real struggle.

The serve was a sidespin serve and they would push it and pop it up to what seemed an easy kill but alas I gave many cheap points away. I was playing with coppa tagora max any help on the best way to kill these balls much appreciated

Smash with your short pips lol.
Kind of hard to tell exactly what's wrong because there are many possibilities, but did you check the basics?
-Angle or racket to compensate for spin
-hitting at top of bounce

Give a full swing of your paddle with an added spin in it. What happens I think is that when you think it's an easy kill, and in the excitement, you do a half swing, accelerate the paddle a little too fast, perhaps even gripping the paddle a little harder than normal. This tends to 'stop' the ball rather then propel it, that causing the ball to go into the net.

The other thing you have to watch out for is the player's return. Possibly a chop return?

He's probably varying the spin on the return, that way even if he pops it up by varying between no-spin and backspin its possible to get the opponent to miss.

TT_freak is right as always :)
but in this particular case I assume that alfies Coppa Max with speed glue and his ultra fast blade are responsible for the misses ... It's not easy to kill those balls with speed glued max rubbers because of the catapult. Remember to hit downwards if you hit or if you loop pay special attention that you get enough forward movement when looping. If you are too close to the table and you stand too much in front of the table when you reach for the ball you won't have the necessary body rotation + weight shift forward in your loop than when you are in a normal position further away from the table. Watch out that you still perform a significant forward movement and enough waist turn.

I tend to think that its a case of nerves or excitement spoiling your technique.
you might be:
failing to move correctly to prepare your kill.
failing to watch the ball
failing to hit through the ball

solution:
practise your killing stroke against chop, against top and against pop up serves. Also try this technique check: from your hand let the ball bounce 8 inches above the net in your bh corner and kill it with yr fh . Can you do 20 out of 20?

next get practise partner and play alternate games Bh spin push any where. you kill the loose ball. Count 1 point for a kill lose two points for a miss. Only attempts to kill can score . Take turns being feeder and aggressor. This will give you a mild pressure situation to test yr stroke.
Lastly I recommend analysing the type of ball you can kill and the ones you cant-backspin topspin whatever, and check that you are choosing the right ball and playing safe on the bad balls
good luck!
