Blade Thickness vs. Weight Combo |

For the same exact model of blade, if one weighs more but is a bit thinner (92 vs. 90, 5.83 vs. 6.1), wouldn't you expect the heavier and thinner one to be more powerful?

From my limited understanding, the general relationship between weight and thickness is proportional, while the one between thickness and stiffness is cubic.
By the above, the lighter but thicker one could "feel" more powerful. |

Impossible to tell without using them. Having built a few blades none of the veneers are a perfect thickness especially if they come from a different sheet. So is one thicker cause the outer veneers are slightly thicker or is the core slightly thicker. 2 grams can be from moisture. Maybe the extra weight is in the handle lamination and not the blade itself? There are just too many variables.

The thinner one might be more flexible, while the thicker one should be more head-heavy.
Can't really comment on power. |
