hi h0n1g, I did not buy that Crest AR bade because I did not feel like it would add much compared to my Violin. I had to resist a lot, especially since Andy Smith said so many good things about it and you did too. It is a bit weird that nobody picked it up already, very puzzling ! I actually am flabbergasted. It reaches a certain level of insanity, I bet 80% or more forum members would make a good decision throwing what they play away to buy that blade.
Because Andy’s review and your comments I still want to try it but I need to ask since you know both: would you go for it coming from a violin if all round control looping from both wings is the goal? How about hitting through? It does not have to be the best at it but does it do the job?Is it stiffer than a heavy violin?
Thanks in advance.

Its not longer available, sorry

However, the Crest is fantastic for both looping as well as hitting. I haven't had a blade to accomplished both in the same way the Crest has.  Maybe thats due to the dual-composite layer? Not sure but it works.

If the Crest would been faster, I think it would be my dream blade but I wasn't able to generate enough speed with it.

Added trade/buy interests. Adding new blades soon.

- Joola Zelebro PBO-C, ST - $125
- Butterfly Liu Shiwen, ST - $160
- Donic Crest AR+, ST - $SOLD
- TSP SWAT Power, ST - $60

As usual, all my blades are in basically new condition.

I'm also going to add about 15 used rubbers that I will sell as a package deal.

My brother played with a Crest for a while.   It's a very nice blade.  I found it noticably stiffer and faster than the Violin.  While the Violin was slower than my DHS Hurricane Hao III, the Crest was faster and stiffer than the Hao III.  I've started using a Bty Shiwan blade, which, as a ZLF, is quite flexible.  Either the Hao or the Shiwen would be a smaller change for you, IMO (the Shiwen would be closer to what you have).
DHS Hurricane Hao 3, Ten. 05, Mizuno GF T45
