I just put a sheet of this on yesterday. Ive played two sessions so far. About 5 matches plus some warm up time. I have 1.7-1.9 sponge on my forehand. Using it on Xiom Zetro Quad.

Initial impressions are that it is really good. Pretty fast, not bouncy, high control, linear, and direct. Blocking and hitting are really good. The sponge doesn't bottom out on hard smashes. I can generate descent spin on serves and there is some deception on blocks. The sponge is medium hard.

I like it. Has anyone else tried this?

I've been living in Vietnam since 2015. They don't have any USATT tournaments over here.  My last rating was around 1820. I'm probably 1950-2000 now. The last time I came back to the states for a vist, I beat a few guys 2000-2100 and nearly everyone sub 1900, but it was just club play. It wasn't a tournament or anything.

I've never played Hammond FA Speed. I usually don't prefer really low spin short pimples. I play with the pimples on my forehand, so I like something that can generate descent spin on serves.

hammond is better than spectol

That is extremely subjective and many people would disagree with you. You can't make that claim so definitively. YOU might prefer Hammond FA over Spectol but to say that Hammond FA is better than Spectol as a matter of fact would be incorrect.
Blade - Xiom 36.5 ALX FL
Forehand - Xiom Omega V Asia 2.0mm
Backhand - Victas Curl P5V with Der Materialspezialist Firestorm Soft/Outkill 1.8mm sponge

Hammond FA Speed is much better than Spectol in any department - block, deception, speed and spin. However, it is a very advanced rubber - beginners should stay away from it.

What is the sponge hardness of Hammond FA Speed?

Anyone else try Spectol Blue? I'm three sessions in now and I'm really enjoying it.
