I began doing a couple of exercises in the gym which reinforce the concept of using the legs and hips for the power backhand stroke.

Man, I have to duck for the backhand too?

There was a time when I used to wonder when and if I would ever block heavyspin's forehand...
I like putting heavy topspin on the ball...

I am on my 6th vegan day on a 22 day challenge, a fb adventure. 1st time under 200 lbs since 2010 (max 231 for 5'9"); I eat all the time and am never hungry/angry; it's all about planning because vegan stuff is not everywhere; also creativity about sauces and mixes. It does boost my game but from where I am anything positive would of course.
The vegan people can be boring or very insightful, like in a tt forum; it's our job to sort the noise out.

With a little over a week until US Nationals, I plan to lay off the strength training and focus on aerobic fitness. I'll be running laps on the outdoor track. My goal is to "run" 2 laps (800m) close to 6 minutes by the time I leave for Vegas. I'm just under 7 minutes right now. I've already noticed that other runners don't appreciate someone who runs in lane 1 at my pace, so I will run slightly more distance in lane 3. I've also noticed that the lanes are wide enough for my entire body to stay in one lane.
