If its in their records it's real. I have never seen a tag be off like that on a Butterfly but I guess anyone can have a bad day.

Only thing that's really off is the metal tag at thea bottom but everything else looks ok. "Perfomance" (wrong spelling) is definitely a thing with genuine Viscaria blades. Only the super new ones have it spelled correctly.

Usually with the older viscarias you can see if it's real if it has the spelling mistake, but with the newer ones they fixed it. But for most viscarias the trademarks are 1. Spelling error 2. Letters should by in a line from top to bottom at the end 3. Handle should have 5 colors in the wood (dark, bright, blue, bright, dark)

I think it is real too. Agree about the off-center silver tag being odd, but stuff happens.
It is clearly well-used so someone must like it. |

Suggest to check blade peak frequency when hitting the ball.

Typical counterfeit Viscaria.
The OP got it online from a Netherland user. Edited by zeio - 07/04/2017 at 10:49pm |

Viscaria FL - 91g
+ Neo H3 2.15 Blk - 44.5g(55.3g uncut bare) + Hexer HD 2.1 Red - 49.3g(68.5g 〃 〃) = 184.8g |

Again I would suggest to test its frequency response to the ball. If it is between 1450-1500, it might be a genuine or a "good" fake.

While I have owned a lot of Viscarias, I would take Zeio's conclusion seriously.

Yeah, the silver tag being off by that much is very, very disturbing. I would expect something like that from a non-Japan made BTY blade and even those usually have good workmanship. Also, just to play devil's advocate, can't a counterfeiter just print a known valid serial number on a fake blade? To the OP, I have no definitive conclusion just to be clear. |

I own a fake Viscaria signed by our National champion. It´s that close to the original that nobody realizes it´s a fake. Quality is 100% same as real BTY, it has nothing to do with that fake posted before, i cant see any differences between the real and my fake apart from the mispellings texts.

I only knowingly played with one fake Viscaria a clubmate had. It played nohning like a real one. But there may be different qualities of fakes.

From the fake blades I've seen in Asia it's always been 100% obvious when a blade was fake to anyone that had seen 2 or 3 real butterfly blades.

I feel that my viscaria absorbs more power than other ones I own. The other ones I own seem to have more power, even tho they r the same weight.

I bet he means the word "PERFOMANCE" but genuine Viscaria is known to have it misspelled for years.

I was waiting for him to say that so I could point out that except for new hologram versions that is a criterion for a real one. On the other hand they were like that for so long counterfeiters know that.

If this is genuine why the Butterfly Logo position at the end of the handle looks incorrect in the middle. Edited by AntSj00 - 07/27/2017 at 6:06am |
