Actually, did he do something with the BH pips or rubber?

I am not sure about the equipment but it is not important. He relies entirely on his skills to win games. His game is based on placement and touch shots.

Black is obviously inverted rubber and red might be anti spin rubber.

Skill perhaps, but skill with certain equipment! Just curious to know what he uses and how he utilizes it.

On a side note, what about that punk kid at 2:09 in the video!? Going over there and roughing up the table... should have thrown him out!

There was an article about him (it was in romanian CryCryCry ). From google translate, he was #5 in Europe in 1992 Shocked.

This kind of players often have problems when they meet défensive players or simply people who take no risk and push. Then they can't play their game and make big mistakes....

This guy is good but not 2650.  That is Olvidio Ionescu's rating and Mr. Csaba is not that good.  He has fast hands but he doesn't even loop on the FH.  Seemiller and Eric Boggan even older I think have higher level than this guy (because they attack better).  Cristian Moldovan exposed his limitations.  I will say though that he is very impressive beating those strong youngsters.

Sakda Timsuwan plays similar, but with a Seemiller-style bh punch (nasty).  He is very dextrous with either rubber surface on either fh or bh.  He has mad skills.

Khaled Z (sp?) - was like 2500+ playing that style also.

Except, in these 2 examples it was LPs and not anti.

:)

I play Sakda on a regular basis and he doesn't use a Seemiller style BH. His BH is definitely nasty and he will make shots that will leave you shaking your head wondering how that was even possible to make.

Yes, if their opponents are rated ~2600-2700 they might have problems.

Ovidiu Ionescu hasn't played enough tournaments in USA to be fairly rated.

And younger players are more likely to struggle with the odd players than older players even with the same rating.

Yes, long pips used by Seniors are the antidote for fast rising trained juniors under 2000 rating.
