Hello all,

I am a student who is conducting an extended essay about table tennis physics. For my essay, I would need to know the range of the speed of these rubbers...

Joola Samba+
https://www.megaspin.net/store/default.asp?pid=j-samba-plus

Joola energy x-tra
https://www.megaspin.net/store/default.asp?pid=j-energy-x-tra

Tibhar vari spin
http://www.tibhar.com/en/product/vari-spin-2/

Andro Plasma 380
https://www.megaspin.net/store/default.asp?pid=andro-plasma-380

Andro Impuls speed
https://www.megaspin.net/store/default.asp?pid=andro-impuls-speed

banco variation energy
http://www.multiset-sport.com/prod/banco-variation-energie-272.html

Most of these rubbers come from megaspin.com, I messaged them about the range and they requested me to come here.

I hope you guys can help,

Thank you very much

I think you need to explain exactly what you want know, because "range of the speed of these rubbers" will mean different things to different people.

I assume that you also appreciate that there is no scientific measurements on these rubbers, so all you will get here are personal opinions, which will vary wildly on player's level and experience with other rubbers.

Hard to know what OP really wants.

I often go to this site for info:

http://www.tabletennisdb.com/top-rubber/speed-desc.html

There's also:

https://thoughtsontabletennis.wordpress.com/

But nothing specific to your needs Im afraid.

Hello,

by the range of the speed of the rubbers, I mean like.. is the speed out 120.. or out 100... because in the end, we don't really know how "powerful" the rubbers are because we have nothing to compare them to, or like we can only compare them with other rubbers.

In my extended essay, I would need to have the rubber's speed to have the same "speed" factor, so that I can compare them. That is why I need to know what the rubber's speed is out of, to then do some math and have them under the same factor to put them on a graph and compare them...

I see.

Well that would be something most players would like to know for sure.
You're talking about a chart where the speed of various sheets are compared through out all brands.

closest thing you will find that is widely available would be the table tennis database website. Only problem is the date is mostly personal assessments which is not very scientific.

I like the way that Preston Table Tennis ppl have conducted various tests..for example:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-k5SyIn4Ajw

That is how testing equipment should be done.

Anyway good luck!

Yes you need speed ratings from a single source that rates them, something like what Paddle Palace do here:
http://www.paddlepalace.com/Rubber/products/1/

Unfortunately many of your rubbers are not on there.

You can't use manufacturer ratings, because all the manufacturers use their own system, making comparison impossible.
