I glued a B2 38 deg orange sponge prov version to my forehand and I really like it. I feel it has better spin control than H3 Neo, also the surface feels tackier and maybe a bit faster too than 39 deg H3N orange.

I use 37deg H3N on my backhand, and I'm wondering which B2 is the softest. Just by looking at the numbers the 45deg commercial should be the softest, but maybe someone who has tried more than one version could tell me which is the softest.

Thanks

has anyone tried boosting regular B2 with Falco long? If so, would you recommend it and how many layers?
A version of Hurricane 3
A version of Tenergy
A Stiga blade...

You should try pot next time. Some variant that slows time. Those are the best.
We used to make a lot of great music on those haha

had a couple of beers before playing with B2 BS (on a Feel AX). on the attack the shots were as deadly or even more so but had more feel, control and precision.   the difference was the smoother stroke and softer hands - attributes the better players have more of. the beer didn't help with the footwork though, among other things.

You know that once you like a rubber that is reasonably priced "they" are going to stop making it. Its like they read the forums...

I got 38 which is practically identical.
It's the difference of 1 point nominally on the 'european' scale.

Consider they're (my b2 and b2pro) are the same hardness (47) I don't think this is the case. But thanks for the feedback. From my experience its the softer sponges that are harder to play with but I guess this is personal preference.

Oh is that so? By pro you still mean provincial version? Provincial version comes in 38, 39, and 40 degree hardness though? So how did you get 47?

Maybe it's that it's not 'broken in' or whatever, but the lack of control really bothered me. The regular B2 is a very precise tool that you can use for extreme spin. The B2 Pro version, to me, felt like something you can only use if you're a phenomenal player. It's higher throw, faster, a lot less controlled and less spinny. I was having trouble with my serves, it was just weird.

I got a few really amazing topspins out of it when I got the ball just right but.. meh.
I took it off and glued the B2 regular back on.
Miracle rubber, this B2 Smile

I had exactly the same experience. Our league had a brief 2 week or so break before the playoffs due to some provincial/cultural holidays so of course I decided to replace my B2 with Provincial B2, in this time thinking it would be a seamless transition that by the time playoffs started I would be used to the rubber.

I had exactly the same problems. It was super hard to get good spin on serves, it had less control, less tack and I couldn't chop or push underspin well. I lost all the matches I played with it and nearly got us eliminated from the semi final round. I immediately put B2 back and didn't lose a single match from then on forward. I've been on B2 ever since.

It came packaged much nicer than the regular version.
It's vacuum wrapped, first of all, and there's a very nice kind of 'multi-page' cardboard wrap around the rubber. Cute design.

I can't tell you yet about the short game and all that because I want to use it for at least a week before I'm definite about everything.

Not enough experience and the rubber is sure as hell not broken in yet but:
1) Definitely faster
2) a bit less tacky (still tacky to the extreme though. Just not as ridiculous as the regular version)
3) higher throw, which I did not like (though it makes lifting backspin really a breeze)

As for my first impression, I like it less than the regular version because of the higher throw. It requires slightly different technique and while it's easier to lift backspin, for example, its easier to block back because there's more power but less spin.
I'll try it some more next week and check in

Lightzy can I ask you which packaging this one came in? Is it bouncier in the short game? Thanks

Ya, it does; it just a taobao agent. Anyway, I highly doubt you can find a fake regular version of 729 Battle II.

BTW yeah, with b2 on backhand you can have insane spin on backhand, but for me I prefer speed on the backhand. The wrist gives enough spin as far as I'm concerned. Still, whenever I switch just for fun it's really, really fun :)

Just wonder what is your rubber sheet color?

It seems that there are few versions.

BTW, the reviews of www.pingpangwang.com's products are not that good, a little over price Embarrassed

There's a popular website in china called http://www.pingpangwang.com/, I believe they got 729 to create a special edition of Battle II provincial for them. I think it's supposed to be tackier and boosted more.

Edit: also interesting, the provincial player edition has a blue sponge, the golden edition has a purple sponge and the pingpangwang edition has a red sponge

any updates?  I used the BS provincial version, it came heavily boosted, for sure faster and more spin than the reg provincial, not enough time to try it in a game
