I see six chinese players in that list.  Are you saying that only Lin Gaoyuan will go for some reason?

ILya
Stiga Allround Bengtsson circa 1970s
FH: Yinhe Big Diper, 40deg, Red

If you click on «Full MS standings» under the list,
you will see that only LGY is eligible to enter for now...
Other chinese players didn't play enough events on the world tour to qualify for now (i.e. 5 events minimum) ;)

Edit : but because they are now participating in Swedish Open, then XX and FZD would be eligible... :)

I see.

Since they are not playing in Sweden, I guess it is Lin Gaoyuan only.

Perhaps, I need to learn to read before I post....

For some reason, I thought they were not playing Swedish open, but FXD, Xu Xin, Yan An, Lin Gaoyuan and Fang Bo are all playing.  That means that FXD, Xu Xin and Fang Bo will be eligible for the finals along with Lin Gayuan.  Then, just outside of the top group, there is Liang Jiankun, who might sneak in with a few cancellations.

well, who is representative for Kazakhstan, the host nation, for Grand Finals ?

Kirill Gerassimenko is the best rated player for now. WR 105.

Coming next week. This is going to be an interesting Grand Finals. How the CNT men's team performs is intriguing.

For Chinese players, the window of opportunity is small.
Lin Gaoyuan probably won't get this opportunity again if he screws up.

Well I actually think their (male) talent pool is not as deep as before. Other than a shot in WTTC singles, Lin has got more chances than Hao Shuai already. And he's quickly becoming another HS if he doesn't start to do better soon

I'm told they love having Hao Shuai on a Superleague team. He is like the best player that has no world championship title (single or doubles or mixed).

Lin Gaoyuan has proven himself against Chinese opposition. But he is a question mark against foreigners. He needs to rectify that to become a mainstay for international competition.

I think Lin Gaoyuan has the advantage that no one else is waiting behind him.  I mean after FZD, XX and ML, who else is there?  It's LGY, ZY, FB and LJK and LJK is playing worse against random foreigners than LGY.

LGY was picked to play in the world cup team event next year. So he is in the top four right now. LGY's coach is the team leader right now, not sure whether it will give LGY more chance to play

Personally I don't like Lin's style of play. He's too much BH oriented but not as good with the banana flip as FZD, or ZJK in his prime. He's not nearly as powerful as those two either, and blocks too much with the BH. I'm not expecting a lot of his future achievements, and the fact that he's beating most of his CNT mates shows they're not as deep as before.

LGY is in the top half, away from Boll and XX. Phew! He must feel so relieved.

OTOH, I have so much expectation for this year's Asian Tour Grand Finals.

As many as 5 of the 16 men come from Europe.

The number is even more "staggering" for the women's side, where 2(read 0) out of 16 "represent" Europe.

I'm so thrilled!

He beated Fan in the German Open, didn't he? If you wanna talk about luck, whoever drew the host player is the lucky one

Dima needs to beat one player to be the world no. 1 in January 2018. Yet he will face Niwa Koki , who beat him in wttc this year. Not a good draw for him.
