my educated guess is 49g (Med-thick). it's comparable to MXP in weight.

49g would have to be a cut weight?

Can't give you exact figures because I forgot to measure the uncut sheet but for cut sheet I can confirm you that it is 3-5 grams lighter than MX-P max thickness rubber. It's a fantastic rubber with good speed+spin and good control.

Can anyone tell me what kind of topsheet the goldarc 8 has? More on the soft or more hard side?
i really like the harder topsheets like Tibhar Aurus series...

More on the soft side, in fact, very much like Adidas P7.  Firm sponge with a top sheet that's got some "squishiness" for lack of a better term.  If you want a very direct hit without a catapult effect, this is not the rubber to get.
