My Butterfly Chinese ULC C-pen has 150mm width and 153mm length.
However my newly bought Butterfly Amultart C-pen has 150mm width and 162mm length.
I wonder what is the purpose of having a longer blade ?

In cpen blades, half of the backside of blade is covered with fingers. So if you're doing rpb and the blade is shakehand size, you'll hit your fingers very often. That's the purpose of longer blades. Most yasaka and stiga blades (popular brands amongst cpen players) have blades that are more than 160 cm in length.

Your Chinese ULC is shorter than normal. 153 vs 158.

Yours is essentially in shakehand headsize. Did you get it second hand? It has probably been modified.

Yes, I´ve seen blades with damaged borders and what the guys do is sanding the edges to eliminate it so they can sell the blade as "almost new".
