Question as I'm about to switch to a new bucket of D40+ balls in my robot: any way to clean the balls quickly (so I don't get the 'new ball' residue on my rubbers)? Hopefully, there is some way to clean them as a group (rather than individually)?

warm water in bucket or your sink, bulk dry with a towel, let them set out for a while until all the moisture evaporates from the ball surface.

I often inadvertently leave  a ball in the shorts while being washed.  The ball comes out cleaner and doesn't seem to have any bad effects.

INSTANT METHOD. (beware of possible diarea).

BULKY METHOD: Just put all the balls into the Kutchen sink with warmish water and stir all over manually.
To keep the balls clean is a real need, dusty balls will damage pong-pong robot's projective rollers pretty soon.

i recently saw that O does this. Is everyone OK with it? If I am at a tournament and the opponent does this I am asking for a new ball.

I agree with washing new balls for a robot but otherwise, nada.

I use a couple of drops of detergent and 30 min wash cycle (+extra rinse) in a washing machine followed by air drying on a towel for several hours.  I do not know about the long-term effect of this since I only started using a robot recently and only had time to wash them a couple of times.
