T2 (Seamaster) and the ITTF World Tour are entering into a partnership.  Apparently, the goal is to bring some of the improvements from T2 into the World Tour.

This could be really helpful - there's a lot of modernization / professionalization that's needed with the World Tour.

ITTF World Tour & T2 Sign Collaboration Agreement

Some snippets from the article:

The collaboration will involve the ITTF World Tour, incorporating certain elements from T2, such as using multiple balls during matches, increased player promotion, player contracts and broadcast innovations.

The biggest aspect of the collaboration is that T2 will become the ITTF competition laboratory, whereby the ITTF can test new innovations such as ball tracking spin and speed, as well as the challenge system where players can challenge an umpire’s decision. This could work for edge ball and even fault serves. T2 is a perfect environment for testing to see if concepts are fit for official ITTF competitions.

I hope they will deliver on their promises.

What happened to the promise on virtual reality?

Quote Virtual reality broadcast will eventually allow fans to watch the table tennis match from any position inside the venue.
...
Once the test has been successfully conduced at the Seamaster Qatar 2016 ITTF World Tour Grand Finals; the ITTF and SECA plans to transmit virtual reality broadcasts at key ITTF events in 2017, to bring table tennis into the virtual realm.

Hopefully they will reach that point before I bite the dust.

Other than the two videos at the Grand Finals 2016, we got some broadcasts for ATTC in 2017 and what else?

THE WORST CAMERA VIEWPOINT.

Hey, dear ITTF Broadcasters

Please take care you never use this apex camera viewpoint. Nobody is happy to watch this miserable pingpong court, some parody of a real sport game. ,
Again, the raliies have got rather unwatchable.

I thought the ultimate goal was for table tennis to return to its origin. We're on the track, folks!

PING PANG PLAYERS AND COACHES TO BE RIGGED WITH HEADSET MICROPHONES?   WHY NOT?

As the ITTF is now looking to make the game more public attractive spectacle, here is a hint from the tennis renowned man.   Quite acceptable hint, in my own mind.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/07/09/let-tennis-players-wear-headsets-communicate-coaches-says-novak/

I really feel curious to know what they all talking about in their verbal conversations. This is everyone's else desire, I believe.

It's materializing.

Roughly 30 mins later, it got "updated"

This should be great. Really looking forward to seeing some of the new technology in use.
