After playing with a few of the new-gen (thin topsheet, thicker-than-the-old-max sponge) rubbers (like R47, Aurus Prime, Z1), it appears to me that this set of new-gen offerings should affect blade choice in a positive manner.

R47 is slower than the other two but the 2.3mm trajectory is just different than the old max. However, Aurus Prime, Bluestorm Z1, and, apparently, Rhyzer 48 seem to be more powerful than MX-P (which is more powerful than T05). Xiom Omega 7 Pro is faster than Omega 5 Tour. The trajectories seem to be more similar to those of speed-glued rubbers.

I think that players currently playing composites may gain in spin-control by moving to such sheets along with a nice OFF- / low OFF flexible all-wood like Acoustic / Virtuoso / PG7. It should work nicely, even with the current, slower plastic ball.

Thoughts?

I agree.  I actually want to take advantage of the lighter weight of Omega 7 and see how it plays with an oversized head OFF- blade.  I think downgrading the blade speed is a reasonable response to these new powerful rubbers.

My only issue is how long does the booster last?

That is te reason why a lot of people bougbt the xiom ax blade than the other feel blades because it is not too fast and when combined with rhyzer or omega vii, tbe control is there but the set up is really fast due to the rubbers.
