Dusseldorf 3 Orenburg 2   1st leg

Boll  def. Ovtcharov  3-1
Mizutani def. Karlsson 3-2 15-13 in the 5th
Samsonov def. Kallberg 3-1
Boll def. Mizutani3-1
Karlsson def. Ovtcharov 3-0

Ovtcharov out of sorts. Boll played very well as did Karlsson.
Samsonov won easily.
Mizutani's 1st loss of the season and Samsonov stays undefeated in the 3rd spot.

2nd leg May 18

Is Ovtcharov injured?  He looked awful in the match against Boll and he looked pretty "out of sorts" in the World Teams as well.

Yes he has some sort of injury but I don't think it has ever been disclosed.

Looking at Dima's play in 2018 is frustrating. He is either not in his shape or does have a kind of injury. Too many unforced errors.

Hip problem.

From the way he moves it looks like SIJ inflammation, probably on the left side.... common for athletes that have to rotate a lot at the waist. Rests his arm on the left lower back after points.

I found his posture odd during his forehand stroke. Also, it was strange to see him go for pendulum serves and attempt to use the forehand more. Even forehand push. Seems he is avoiding straining his left side. You guys are probably right.
