The Joola Flash is the approved ball for this event.

Is it possible the ball will be upgraded by the latest better generation of ball by Joola for this event ?

Under normal circumstances probably not but the ball changes over recent years has been different.

Imho, Joola FLASH is a pretty good ball. It breaks a tad too often but they will have thousands of them in store so that shouldn't (hopefully) matter much for the players.

I would advise you to post it here. Please don't forget the age category - so that other players could PM you.

Truthfully, however, I don't see a difference in ability (in doubles) based on age, once you get over 40.  It really only becomes an issue once mobility goes down, which isn't until over 70.  So I wouldn't care if I were playing 40-45, 50-55,  or 60-65.

I think you can only play in your age group.

One can play any  group below your age in doubles. Singles you must play your age group.

This implies you can choose to play a lower age group, which isn't quite right.  If you play with a younger partner, you play in his/her age group, regardless of your (old) age.

Sorry yes that  was meant if you were 52 and had a 42 year old  partner then you would play 40-44.

The JOOLA FLASH is the ball...not going to be changed!

Also, I am doing my best to keep up with doubles partners requests - if you know of anyone you want to play with, just email me and I can bcc them in a communication.

Dan is correct - the group RR times are posted on-line (http://wvc2018.com/overview/qualification-rounds-start-times/)

We have a "blast" going out to all entrants on Sunday with updates about ESTA visas, social events (Opening Ceremonies and we are going to announce a big party for Wednesday night) and other information. You can always also reach out to me with other questions - right now email is best (Gordon.Kaye@usatt.org). If you don't hear back from me within a day, email again...With over 5,000 people from 97 countries sometimes I miss one or two (although not on purpose!).

Also, we have a great vendor area set-up with equipment suppliers from all over the world...Here is who is coming:

JOOLA (obviously)
Dr. Neubauer
Butterfly
Gambler
GEWO
Daiwei
Global Gadgets (tech stuff)
WVC2020
Mypingpongbuddy
Ding Yi
Paddle Palace
...and of course a WVC2018 store!
JOOLA Aruna OFF / T-05 / RHZYM TECH
