So I recently ordered my first pair of table tennis shoes and I guess I make the mistake of purchasing blind online.
However, I typically wear a wide trainer like ASICS Kyano day to day in double E. I think but multiple parts of my feet where hurting when I first tried to wear Kaiserburg 5 after about an hour into a training session. What is strange is that this shoe is marketed for wide feet but really didn’t seem like it should be. Has anybody tried adding inserts to the shoes to improve the comfort? There is no table tennis flooring where I play. |

I added insoles to my Mizuno Wave Medal 5 just after I realised they have afflicted me plantar fasciitis. Apparently t was too late..
P.S.: There is no table tennis flooring where I play |

Any table tennis shoes will be uncomfortable compared to Asics Kayano or any other Asics trainers.
Maybe you should look at Asics indoor shoes like: Gel Rocket, Gel Blade, Gel Domain, Gel Fastball..

Gel rocket 7 offer more cushioning than blade 6, although the blade is significantly more expensive

It would always be the best if you can try the shoes on before you buy it. I always use Neat Feat insole to protect my foot and knee, but I believe it is thicker than the original insole, so the shoes might be a bit tighter and you might want a slightly bigger size.

What is the equivalent of these products in the US?
In Australia I use to wear Sorbothane inserts when playing soccer.

I have a pair of Wave 5, very comfortable TT shoes. You might contact TT Japan as they carry the Mizuno line.

They are comfortable and may reward you with a plantar fasciitis if used on a hard surface
